0+ armour save?

Hello smile

Is it possible to have a 0+ armour save?

Example; vampire with Heavy Armour, Shield, Nightshroud and Barded Nightmare?

Of course always fail on a roll of 1 but making it harder to reduce armor saves?

Also, is it possible to apply an enchanted shield for an additional armour save?

RE: 0+ armour save?

I do believe you've added incorrectly. Having Heavy Armor, a Shield, a Barded Nightmare, and the Nightshroud will only give you a 1+ armor save. And yes, this is possible (but you do still fail the save on a natural roll of 1).

In any case, your AS is capped at 1+. It says so in the armor section of the BRB (although I can't provide a page reference at the moment). The only army that, to my knowledge, can achieve a 0+ save is the Warriors of Chaos through their 'Eye of the Gods' chart, which gives the user a random buff. One of those random effects is +1 to your armor save. In this case, it is explicitly stated in the army book that the save is maxed out at 0+ instead of 1+.

RE: 0+ armour save?

Actually we can have a 0+ save technically, through barded nightmare, heavy armour, shield, Dragonhelm and Nightshroud. But it wont do us any good. UNLESS you count armour save modifiers from 0+, which would mean you still save S4 on 2+.

I met a man who wasn’t there
He wasn’t there again today
I wish, I wish he’d go away...

It's pg 43, for any future references related to this topic.

Also - I believe that Lizardmen can score a 0+ as well. (Even though it's capped at 1+ per BRB as previously stated)

RE: 0+ armour save?

You an have a 0+ save as long as you don't need a shield to reach it. The BRB says a shield can bring a save no lower than 1+

Granted I can't think of anyway to reach 0+ without a shield. Maybe lizardmen because of thir scaly skin and dragonhelm?

Earlier on that same page is the NOTHING can drop any save below a 1+ (incl. a Ward save), it's just repeated under the shield save.
