I'm not sure how much the Landspeeder costs, but it seems a little out of place in this army. I might switch out the LS with some assault marines. Or, I would almost always leave that in reserve and use it to contest objectives.

The contesting was indeed my plan, its also meant to have a heavy flamer, in my expereice so far its been effective in dropping out the sky and roasting a bunch on guys and contesting. Im mainly using it becuase it was out of that or a chaplain or extra terminater, its only 50 points.

ohhh chaplin preaching hate

the speeder isnt bad for what your planning. When I look at a list I see what is in it and tick off well this is how I would deal with that.

All that said it looks like a pretty strong list, my Khorne army could deal well with everything except possible the terminators. Which at a 1000 pts could swing the game in your favor as me personally would only have Kharne who could do real damage to them or my dread if it wasnt going crazy that turn. cheesygrin But As I said that is how I see dealing with whats in your army. Strong list you should do well.

I havent played my nids in this edition or I would offer my thoughts on how I would solve it with nids.

Let us know how ya do.

If your planning spirit hosts we have a monthly challenge in February that I would love to see what you would do for them.
Spirit host challenge.

i think the dread is out of place myself, he is too easy to snipe down when he the only one running round. i would get him out for bulking out your marine squads.
keep the LS just for that last turn turbo boost to deny objectives.

I guess it really depends on what he's going to do with the Dreadnought. It is geared out towards long(er) range combat, then keeping it in cover would be a good idea and it will do fine. However, it is goes the close combat route it may be a sitting duck.

RE: 1000pt marine allcomers

thats true,
i guess im just a vehicle-phobe.

i have 6 40k armies,
kroot - no tanks
orks - 2 walkers in 3000 points
marines- rhino and vind
nurgle deamons - none
eldar - one suicidal fire dragon drop off serpent.
and then more marines my own chapter but a full battle company.

i just hate things that could be taken out by one shot

I fully agree on that, 1 metla can ruin your 100 point unit so easily.Im just using the dreadnought to make up the points really. Played two games today, won against demons due to some bad deepstrike rolls letting me peicemeal him and came second in a 4 way battle. The nid player that won had one hormagaunt left but the most killpoints due to sniping eldar tanks with a zoanthrope eek
