2000 point tourney list.

It's my first time using the site, and I figured that I could use some advice! Anyways, here is my current list.

1 Vampire Lord: (lvl 1)
-skabrath
-book of arkhan
-quick blood
-aura of dark mastery
-master strike
-dread knight
-hell steed

1 necro: (lvl 2)
-dispell scroll
-master of the dead

4 cairn wraiths
1 tomb banshee

48 zombies
-full command

47 zombies
-full command

35 skeletons
-full command
-the screaming banner

1 terrogheist
-rancid maw
-infested

5 hex wraiths

3 spirit hosts

Total: 2000

I had planned on putting all of my heroes within the block of skeletons. I would of course be putting all of my cairn wraiths and the tomb banshee on the front rank. Then, I would hide my necromancer in the second rank!

Also, I wanted to utilize 3 screams throughout the game. Therefore, instead of bringing 3 terrorgheists, I gave my vampire lord the ability to fly around and use his death scream, along with the tomb banshee. I also am assuming that I will be going up against pretty much every army.... so I was thinking that if I brought enough ethereal units, I would have the upper hand.

With my necromancer constantly throwing out invocation, I think I can grossly build up my skeletons and especially zombies. Anyways, what do you all think?

RE: 2000 point tourney list.

Well it is an interesting list in general. Some things to consider:

- Are you planing on a big frontage in the unit of skelies? ( characters and the command group got to be in the first rank of the unit)

- You can save some points by reducing the number of zombie units to 30

- Lord is too fragile, no ward save etc. If you insist in Skabscrath and book of arkhan, i would go then for curse of revenant, aura of dark majesty and beguile

- I think that with lvl1 lord and lvl2 necro your casting will be below average.

Let us know how you did with this list

RE: 2000 point tourney list.

so you are using all the wraiths and banshee as hero choices? I don't love the idea of that but tell me how it goes. it makes a banshee 15 more points >_> and in a 2000 point game your magic could be shut down easy with empire or dwarfs. that is a good amount of ethereal that i like smile but one high elf mage could make them go byebye....

RE: 2000 point tourney list.

I got rid of the full command for the skeletons, in order to have all ethereal units in the first rank.. The 3 shouts proved to be very good, I had a lot of luck with the rolls though. The vulnerable lord wasn't that big of a problem, he never died since I kept moving him around.

However, I would have liked to have a stronger magic phase, but oh well.

Bad news is, all 3 games I had were against chaos demons players... so the ethereal idea was shot right out of the window!! I was so upset.

I like the list, but next time, I am dropping the vampire lord, picking up a master necromancer and then dropping all of the zombies and some of the skeletons for ghouls.
