Hi All
Got an up and coming battle against Daemons tomorrow in fact and its my first battle under the new rules need some advice against an army that is likely to consist of Blood letters, juggernauts and a few heralds and possibly a few nurgle magic casters.

Should I take another Magic Caster?
What Corpse Cart upgrade should i take?
Is 4+ ward save worth suffering from stupidity

Yes, the 4+ Ward is worth the Stupidity tests! Can you squeeze in a BSB (even on the existing Wight King)? Then you can reroll the Ld10 test... and it really wouldn't be a problem to worry about.

Banner of the Dead Legion is basically useless now, since US is gone. I'd switch this to say a War Banner, or some other cheap banner that is useful. Lichebone Std is also good, if your Lord is going to join one of these units (this is usually good for a Bunker unit)

I'd put a magic std on the GG unit. Barrows or Strigoi, whichever you prefer. Do those GG have GWs? If not, they probably should.

You have WAY too many points in Core. VC Core units are NOT going to win you any games... they fill in the requirements, and can be used to bog down units. It's the characters, specials and rares that do all the damage. I'd drop at least one full unit of Skeletons.

I've not used a CCart in 8th yet... not sure about that one.

Another caster might not be a bad idea... take a dispel scroll as well on him/her.

I think vc core might do good against demons, grave guards are better though. I think yo wont have good succes with vc rare's against demons and wolf / bats / black knights might not be the thing. Blood knights just might though.

I would always take magic banners for skeletons, war banner, flaming attack banner, extra rank banners are what i prefer.

It was a good, Fun game that we had, Not sure if its not good taste to put the list I faced you with on your thread, But it is available if anybody wants to see it.

Took a little while to get Christophe up to date on new rules as well as a quick re-hash on the army list to accommodate the fact that he only needed 25% core units as well as show that horde units can make all the difference.

But curse of years, Oh how I hate thee.

dont have rulebook handy but
arent sceptre de noirot and staff of damnation the same catogory?
to much skels
drop the corpse cart and 2 of the hordes for something fast (cavalry/varghulf) and more GG/ghouls
i wouldn't take strigoi against daemons
daemons (most of the time) will be a GRINDING war
might take another spellcaster
vampire with shadow/metal (or light if you vs Daemons/other undead )

Yes, they are both Arcane items... not sure how I missed that one when I first looked at the list.
