Hi,

After only having a handful of games of 8th edition I have been mainly playing 40k. With the release of the Vampire Counts I've decided to pick up Fantasy again.

I've created a list that won't require me to buy many more models (just 10 extra grave guard and some more zombies). If I really get back into Fantasy some Vargheists will be first on my shopping list.

Here's the list, let me know what you think:

[choppy lord, will mainly go after rank and file, but can go up to str 8 for one turn. I would love to swap the shield for the Enchanted Shield, but the 2 extra points would put the lords over 600 pts]

Your lord looks very unprotected at the moment. Why not go for a strigoi ghoul king on foot with some fighty gear, that way you can afford the fourth level on the master necro and perhaps drop one of the lesser ones.

I think the points are fine as heroes and lords are seperate and i think he has less than 600 pts on heroes.

Hi,

599 pts of Lords & 420 pts of Heros, so I think I'm all right.

Interesting idea regarding the ghoulking. I could lose quickblood (as the ghoul king has infinite hatred). This with losing the armour and shield would offset the increased points cost of the ghoul king, but would leave me on 600 pts of Lords and therefore not able to upgrade the master to lvl4.

Should i downgrade the +3 attacks sword to +2 attacks to get some better armour, even if it's just the enchanted shield to up the vamp's armour save to 3+ ?

Do you think the 2 lords can work, or is it too difercult to fit both a vamp lord and a master necro in 600 points ?

Ghoulking with red fury, ogre blade (or +2 attack sword) and dragonbane gem

Master necro with level 4 and cursed book

Should be around 600pts-ish.

Thanks for the ideas.

The Ghoul king you suggested is good, I could fit in the fear incarnate to hit 600 pts. I don't have the potion of strength for the one turn str 8 goodness, but i could drop the equipment off the master necro, making the lords:

Ghould King - 395
Red Fury, Fear Incarnate
+2 Attacks Sword, Dragonbane Gem, Potion of Strength

Master Necromancer - 200
Lvl 4 Upgrade

The General still is a bit fragile with only a 5+ regen. If keep the vampire lord instead of the ghoul king (whose 40 pts cheaper) I could give him a 3+ rerollable save, would this be better ?
