2500 Competitive / All-Comers List

Hello Everyone,

After a few games, here's what I have come up with for a tourney next month. All comments appreciated!

1 Master Necromancer (in spear skellies)
General; Master of the Dead; Magic Level 4; Lore of Vampires
Master of the Dead
Dispel Scroll

1 Vampire (in black knights)
Magic Level 1; Heavy Armour; Shield; Barded Nightmare
Sword of Strife
Aura of Dark Majesty
Dark Acolyte
Dragonhelm

1 Vampire (in black knights)
Battle Standard Bearer; Magic Level 1; Lance; Shield, Heavy Armour; Barded Nightmare
Nightshroud
Dark Acolyte
Beguile
Dragonbane Gem
Ironcurse Icon

2 x 1 Cairn Wraiths (characters - in spear skellies)

35 Skeleton Warriors
Light Armour; Shield; Standard; Musician; Champion

35 Skeleton Warriors
Light Armour; Shield; Standard; Musician; Champion

32 Skeleton Warriors
Spear; Light Armour; Shield; Standard; Musician; Standard of Discipline; Champion

10 Black Knights
Barding; Lance; Heavy Armour; Shield; Standard; Musician; Banner of the Eternal Flame; Hell Knight

2 x 5 Dire Wolves

2 x 1 Spirit Hosts

2 Bat Swarms

2 x 3 Vargheists

1 Terrorgheist

Additional Casting Dice: 0
Additional Dispel Dice: 0
Models in Army: 128
Total Army Cost: 2498.0

My setup will be something like this:

VG DW DW Sk SH Sk SH SpSk BS BK TG VG

It is a typical refused flank setup. All the skellies, black knights, and terrorgeist fit in the general's march bubble. I have the Master Necro in with the 2 Wraiths for protection. It also means he can hide in the 2nd rank if needed.

The basic plan is to go after warmachines, characters, and weak units with the VGs, redirect on the weak flank with DW and SH, hold the center with Skellies, and pound the strong flank with BK, the two vamps, and TG.

What do you think?

RE: 2500 Competitive / All-Comers List

I think those squads of 3 Vargheists are going to get shot down - T4 + no save isn't much protection. I'd roll with one squad of 6. I'd also run 2 Skellie blocks at 40 instead of 3 in their 30's, and spend the differential on more Dire Wolves.

If you're going to run your Master Necro in the Spear Skellie unit, he needs some protection. As a matter of fact, all your characters could use a Ward save - anything with KB would potentially devastate this army.
