RE: 2500 versus Ogres

Good report!
I just wrote down a couple of things while watching the report:
Mortis Engine - keep it behind Crypt Horrors because they are MI and can possibly intercept cannonballs (and increase their regen to 4+, making it even more likely should the ball bounce through them).
Ironguts - standard should have died when they broke from combat (meaning no +1Ld banner (SoD) when attempting to rally).

Since you have many PBAoE (point blank area of effect originating from caster/vamp/engine/etc) special rules/spells in VC, I think you will benefit from deploying tight as opposed to stretching out your battleline.

Looking forward to the next one!Vampire3

RE: 2500 versus Ogres

Good thinking with the Crypt Horrors! I was too wrapped up in the fact that it's large target, but if it's right behind the crypt horrors, likely the cannon ball will have to hit them first, or he'll over shoot. LOVE IT.

Right - we totally spaced that lol - that would have been nice wink

I definitely agree to a tight deployment. That's what I'll go for whenever possible. Stupid Dawn Attack deployment rules wink

Thanks much!

RE: 2500 versus Ogres

I really enjoyed that report! Ogres are a pain in the arse. At least he didn't use the hellheart!

When the spirit hosts were in CC with the maneaters, I believe the maximizing rule would have mandated more models in base-to-base contact, making the spirit hosts in the center, which may have allowed the ironguts to have had a successful charge, ouch!

Again, nice use of youtube, keep em coming!

RE: 2500 versus Ogres

Nice battle report, I like your mortis Engine painjob too BTW.

Tough run against Ogres, the deployment type had you in a bind before the first turn. I'm not convinced the Ironblasters are overpowered even when taking in a pair, I mean other than the three crypt horrors the rest of the casualties were easily replaceable with ION, and im not convinced he even made their points back.

Hellheart would have been worse... that just hurts.

Thanks for the report
