3500 points Vampire legion for a team fight

Hi! smile We decided to have a team fight in our gaming group on this weekend. As only four players decided to come (it's Easter after all rolleyes ) we decided to have a 2 vs 2 team fight with slightly bigger lists than normally.

My allied army is Beastmen. We are going to fight against Empire and WoC. Yep, pretty bad match up (cannons and tanks with Chosens) but it's only game.

So, I started building my army by taking a heavy-casting Vampire Lord - Skull Staff would have been cool, but Earthing Rod and Crown of Command are very important because I'm going to face the Infernal Puppet and the Black Tongue. Now I can re-roll first miscast, I have 4+ ward AND I delete the first hit on 2+. I hope the Lord is pretty safe now.

Then I took the BSB with Drakenhoff Banner - solid choice which is cool as I'm probably not going to face flames except the flaming banner of Chosens (and they are very hard to kill anyway). The BSB goes with Grave Guards of course.

Then the support Vampire. I need Ghoulkin as I have tons of Ghouls, and Dispel Scroll is nice if I'm going to face some insane hard-casted spells. Ironcurse Icon is cheap and nice, especially when I'm facing Empire.

Then to the core choices. Three Ghoul hordes which are rather easy to summon will be the backbone of my army. The smaller unit is the hiding place for my Vampire and Vampire Lord.

Specials then. 39 Grave Guards with great weapons and Banner of the Barrows can kill tons of things (except the Chosens, again). Three units of Fell Bats are there for annoying opponent and possibly munching some war machines. Beastmen can do this rather well because of ambush rule but there's always good to have something flying.

Finally two big units of Wraiths finish the list. They are good as WoC and Empire neither can have magical attacks.

So what do you think about? I think the list is solid, but what are your opinions about it?

I think it´s very good actually. One question tho, how will all those units fit on the table`? cheesygrin Your GG and both units of wraiths are just monsters waiting to be unleashed.

Oh god, Ghoulkin becomes simply horrific. cheesygrin

Although you're 8pts over and can easily cut one ghoul to make it dead on 3500! It makes little difference so better to stick to the limit.

You could fit two lords in with effort, but I think your list is better. So....many....ghouls....

How the heck are you going to get them all painted? That's like 150 ghouls! tongue

What could this be?

Thank you for your comments. smile

@ Mikael.K: We are using 96-120" wide table instead of normal 72", so I hope the room will not be a problem. It's nice to have Ghouls everywhere across the table, it makes opponent thinking where to place the precious units.

@ I noticed the same thing, too. I dropped one Ghoul from the bunker, now the list is legal. I first thought about two Lord, possibly one casty and one fighty, but then I decided to take one casty and spend points on Wraiths. At the moment I have 110 Ghoul miniatures, but we decided we can proxy some units. Sooner or later I'm going to get some more. cheesygrin I haven't even started basing them, painting is going to take forever. wink

The game is tomorrow, wish me luck!
