Ariel the...Green?!

I just found an old wood elf miniature that I must have painted 10 years ago. So I have re-painted it just for fun. It turned out very green neutral. Has anyone else got/painted this sort of ugly miniature?

Wow that's very green indeed. Not too sure about the skin but he rest looks good. I think you could use flesh tones with 'accents' of green running throughout your mixes for the skin. Keep it looking elven. The base is great too, I love the toadstool. I've never put fungus on my models and perhaps I should start. What did you use for the branch?

You got any more Wood Elves?

I have two of the models, but never painted them (unfortunately my Wood Elf army never got far beyond two small units painted and 4 battles before 40K "bug" took over again). I would suggest more flesh colours and paint the wings as per a colourful butterfly. Love the base though. You could always use it as an overgrown statue, with moss/lichen running oner it (which is why I got the 2nd model).

I am Graf Wulfen Blut Schlosses (Count Wulf of Blood Castle), my realm is well within the "Border Princes", but it is mine all the same.

RE: Ariel the...Green?!

@untitled_musketeer: Thanks I thought the toadstool might take the focus of Ariel's face which can only be a good thingwink. I used a sea shell for the toadstool, and some dried out twigs from a dead plant for the branches with some sort of fern/lichen glued on for fronds/leaves.

Originally I had her painted traditional flesh tones with pale blue wings but I just didn't like it and I dont really have the skills for good butterfly wings so I painted over it with the GREEN!surprised

I did have more wood elves but unfortunately lost most of my miniatures some years ago when I moved out of home and went to university. I am planning on starting a dryad/tree kin forest creature-y wood elf army with some way watchers thrown in for good measure in the near future though.Thumbs Up

I like the sound of a Dryad army. I'll keep my eyes out for threads of a wooden nature!

I got one too but sadly fantasy fell away year along time ago. Mostly I just collect my undead and play 40k. someday like I did with nagash I would love to paint mine up.

Your's is interesting that is for sure, the green was a different take on it too.
