Curse of years occurs in both Magic Phases?

"At the end of the next magic phase, roll again for each model in the unit, they will suffer a Wound on 5+, and so on, to a maximum of 2+."

So curse of years happens at the end of my magic phase, when I first cast it, wounding on 6. Then at the end of my opponent's magic phase, he is wounded again on 5+?

Yep - it's great as sometimes they forget to dispel it and it bites them in the bum at the end of their magic phase. When yours comes back round its wounding on 4+...nice Vampire3

Disciple of Nagash, the perverted master,
The more you struggle, the more he goes faster.
Give him breast, and give him bust,
The more you give the more he thrusts.
And as you all shall soon see, there is nothing that he will not conceive
Whether dark or whether weird, its guaranteed to make you real
But in the end we all see, he is the forum master and perverted seed.

It's also nice that it is now 12+ making it very difficult to dispel with PD. It's also worth noting that the opponent only gets one shot to dispel the RiP spell! Failure to do so wastes their PD and they lose 1/3 of the unit. muhahahahaha.

Oh ! That's a big increase from what it was before, FIRESTORM gives his stamp of approval.

Oh crap I just realized a big problem... now that we don't buy our spells... we can't have two vamps with a full lore of vampires... or lore of anything for that matter... oh no...

If you take Mannfred/Kemmler, you can still have a second caster take Curse of Years if they roll it.

Maybe it's just my excitement for a new book, but I don't see myself taking any lores other than Vampires in under 2500 points in the near future. It's just so useful when you're dropping for the signature on everyone.

RE: Curse of years occurs in both Magic Phases?

I recently had a talking about that with a buddy Dwarf player. Does curse of years (or winds of undeath, for the like) has effect at beguinning or end of magic phase?. So, has any chance to dispel it before it has effect on that phase?

And by the way, Can Dwarves dispel with power dice? i tougth they don´t generate any....

DEATH IS JUST THE BEGINNING...

It kicks in at the End of the Magic Phase so you can always have a stab at dispelling it.

Dwarves can dispel as normal, they just don't get to add any Wizard levels to it (Though they have bonuses of their own)

Dwarfs generate PD just like everyone else. The only use for those PD is dispelling remains in play spells, so they tend not to last long against Dwarfs.

Dwarfs get +2 to their dispel attempts even if they have no runesmiths.

If I am not mistaken, all remains in plays spells that occur during your opponents phase occur after they are given a chance to dispel it.

If you really want to get creative.. forbidden lord on a strigoi lord, with Lore of Beasts. There's a fun lord.

Yep. It's a fantastic spell in that way. It's like magic phase insurance if you can get it off. Either they take damage or have to toss 3-4 dice its way for a reliable dispel. Great to capitalize upon in a phase when you get a nice winds of magic roll (6,6 or 5,5 or even the stellar 4,4/4,3). May not work on Khorne or Dwarves, but on any other magic-reliant army, it's a nasty one (/sob other vamps, tomb kings, elves, and some lizzie armies)

Cheers.
