Epic conversation

This was just an epic conversation I had with Seiuchi over facebook. Just thought I'd share it.

Quote:Harland
this vau is moving at the speed of a snail
strapped to a rocket
powered by multiple hydrogen bombs

Seiuchi
Surely having a snail strapped to the side of a rocket would reduce the aerodynamics
wild vortices would form around the snail
causing the rocket to follow a curved trajectory
Well, depends on the size of the rocket in question
I was thinking of a firework rocket

Harland
I am highlighting th speed, not the trajectory

Seiuchi
The speed or the velocity?

Harland
I meant the velocity

Seiuchi
kk

Harland
rather than trajectory
mind, hands, mouth. three different things
I don't think a firework rocket is large enough to be powered by hydrogen

Seiuchi
If the snail was moving along the ground...
...and the straps on the rocket were really tight...
and the snail really sticky...
The rocket would pivot around the snail and nosedive?
I don't know why I'm discussing this

Harland
this is a hypothetical question, just like on a GCSE paper. this is all happening in a vacuum
BECAUSE THIS MATTERS

SeiuchiTHE ROCKET CANNOT MOVE ANYWHERE BECAUSE THERE IS AN ELEPHANT IN THE WAY

Harland
THE ELEPHANT CANNOT GET IN THE WAY BECAUSE THERE IS A WHALE IN THE WAY OF IT GETTING IN THE WAY

Seiuchi
UNFORTUNATELY FOR YOU, THE ELEPHANT IS LATVIAN

Harland
UNFORTUNATELY FOR YOU, THE WHALE IS A FINANCIAL ADVISOR

Seiuchi
UNFORTUNATELY THE ELEPHANT STARTS FIGHTING THE WHALE, AND THE ELEPHANT USES HIS LIMIT BREAK. IT INVOLVES A POT OF YOGHURT, A MOOSE AND A KUIPER BELT OBJECT.
IT IS FOUR HOURS LONG
YOU MAY NOT SKIP ANY OF THE CUTSCENES

Harland
UNFORTUNATELY FOR YOU, THERE IS A RUNTIME ERROR

Seiuchi
BUT SUDDENLY
MICROSCOPES

Harland
AND COPIOUS GOATS

Seiuchi
OH GOD NO NOT THE GOATS
GAME OVER MAN GAME OVER

Harland
EPIC WIN

RE: Epic conversation

Is it sad that I noticed the scientific error concerning speeds, velocities, and scalars and vectors? You said that you were highlighting the speed and not the trajectory, which was correct, but then incorrectly corrected yourself to say you meant the velocity, which, as a vector, includes a direction and therefore the trajectory...!

But a lovely conversation. I wish mine were as fruitful, it's normally me whining to people about how good certain classical pieces of music are.

Like Britten's theme and variations based on Purcell's rondo, known as the "young person's guide to the orchestra"... IT IS DIVINE!

What could this be?

RE: Epic conversation

Lol. Wait, so what was the consensus on the snails velocity? Maybe he wouldn't nose dive if you weighted him properly?

Exactly my point. I meant speed as opposed to velocity because trajectory made less sense in the contest.

RE: Epic conversation

Ahaa, this is such a productive conversation ... I'm curious, however ... Why are there goats?

RE: Epic conversation

Well, by that logic, why should there not be any number of things in this world, but it doesn't answer the question as to why there are goats ... tongue
