Greetings fellow bloodsuckers!

My first 2012 vc army proved to be successful! It was lead by Megreint, master necromancer (lvl 4), and I had 2 goals: first, have an army with no ghouls at all (as you couldn't really avoid them before); second, maximize the raise of the dead, as it looked pretty effective on paper, and I wanted to see if it really worked. I was fighting an empire force of 2000 pts.

I only had one vampire hero, and a wraith hero, so I lacked some fighting force, but I didn't really need it.

In spite of 2 magic phases with 3 dice of magic winds, I managed to achieve a minor victory (300 extra pts of casualties compared to my losses). Resurrecting our units is a real pleasure in this version!

The heroes of the day are dire wolves (very useful with their move and vanguard, on turn 1 they were jumping on the imperial cannons - the empire started the battle), and vargheists who can do about anything. As for me they first destroyed some shooters, and then I sacrified them on the halberdiers (there was a lot of them). On second thought, next time I'll spend one more turn in order to get them in place to attack from the side, as a backup for my core units.

In conclusion, it was a very pleasant day,a nd I'm looking forward to the next time my vampire will get out of their graves!

Congrats on the victory.

I too plan on playing some games sans-ghouls in the near future. I never user a lot of ghouls in past games anyways, mostly due to lack of models.
