GT Finals...

Hi everyone,

Just a quick note to say see you at the GT Finals this weekend.

Have written about a half dozen lists over the last couple of days, trying to get ready for the weekends combat... Nearly got an idea on what I will be taking.

I'll be sporting a new Vampire Counts themed hoody, so say hi if you see me.

Regards

But in the end we all see, he is the forum master and perverted seed.

Good luck Munkey. I hope you enjoy the games!

What list are you taking, or are you waiting until the tournament is done before you post? Any theme going for it or pictures so we can see what it looks like?

@DoN: Quite possibly, but I suggest you talk to Willmark about that and his experience with doing it for CDO.

RE: GT Finals...

No secrets about my list here...

Vamp Lord, +1 Level, Master, Forebidden, Summon Ghouls, Skull Staff, Helm

Hugo, Dark Acolyte, Summon Ghouls, Book, BsB
Percy, Dark Acolyte, Summon Ghouls, Scroll, Periapt
Steve, Dark Acolyte and things as yet undecided

10 Ghouls & Ghast x 4
5 Dire Wolves (and maybe a doomwolf)
1 corpsecart + Unholy Loadstone
3 Fellbats

Some Cairn Wraiths

Basically the list I qualified with - with a couple of minor tweaks. I have tried a couple of different themed lists, with Grave guard and bloodknights but found a certain dependability.

I am not completely decided on the set up for the 4th vampire. Am tempted to concentrate on combat to add some bite to one of the Ghouls units. Also undecided on whether or not to pop a couple of doom wolves into the mix, for Bloodthirster trapping.

Other thing is whether to swap 1 unit of ghouls for a unit of 20 zombies with banner. Would be helpful to have a nice big roadblock on the board from turn 1. Would also allow me to take summon ghouls off of one of the vampires - allowing him to take Avatar and be more combat orientated.

Yes, there will be an extensive battle report, as there was for the qualifiers and finals last year. This year the girlfriend has been signed up to be official Munkey photographer, so I might add some pics to boot!

Ahh, the Buxom Wench tactic, I like it! Good distinguishing feature though, if I see a VC player with a girlfriend hanging about, I'll come and say hello. My girlfriend offered to come, saying that she could dress up our little men and make them into a shopping game... dear oh dear! My army will be a bit more obvious, 99% Goblins lead by Skarsnik. Good luck to us grin

I would agree on a unit of Zombies rather than the 4th unit of Ghouls, and the 4th Vampire I'd go a bit different: Ghoulkin, Infinite Hatred, Sword of Battle, Flayed Hauberk and Talisman of Lycni. He'll add so much to your army- and inject a bit more fun into it too while he's at it wink

I agree with Count Flap, some stuff might get left behing though...and less raising time. Maybe drop ghoulking for walking death or more troops

Also are you not taking summon creature to raise the bats up?

Ill probably see you there, i'm considering bringing a can of air fresherner after the last 40k heat I was there for (it reacked of sweat end of the saturday)...Though fantasy players might not be as smelly tongue

Good luck

Get out of my sig *shakes fist*. A note for Darvy, I'm sure he'll find this, you've had Beethoven isn't epic in your sig for a few weeks now.

You is sooooo dead.

yup, summon creatures will be on one of the vamps. If I take just 3 units of ghouls, I reckon the lord and 1 other vamp should be enough to get them to a decent size. The third vamp can raise up the creatures. The fourth vamp can be a bit more combat orientated....

Speaking of combat, why can I hear Konrad's whisper in my mind "Take me.... I'll be good for you..." I took him to last years final and he managed to kill approx 1 dwarf unit champion, a dozen ghouls but he was bloody good fun to take.

Yeah he's good fun but a bit unreliable... but can do loads of dammage, I saw him take down a beastmen Lord the other day... but if he's not striking first he's in trouble...
