Guyzooip's VC painting log.

Finally took some pictures thought I'd post a painting log.

I didn't like the current Abyssal Terror model and couldn't get the Melkior one, so I got around to making one out of chicken wire and green stuff. My first time using green stuff, and man is that stuff a pain if you don't know what you're doing.
I'm not sure which model I want as a rider yet. I know I've got some pictures I took of the greens somewhere, just have to find them.

Some stuff that's pretty much finished painted. I'm not sure what I want my BSB to look like. I'm on the fence with making it colorful and bright like the old "Undead" banners or have it match the others.
I've got 10 more GG still in a box.

That's it for now. I'm not a wizard with the camera so the other pictures are rather blurry and out of focus.

It's just a cheap thin metal wire that can be cut with any pair of scizors. A friend of mine called it "chicken wire" and it just stuck. Having now googled chicken wire, well, he was wrong. Anyways, found the photos of the greens, which might clear that up.

Thank you. I really want to try sculpting something smaller and more humanoid, though I don't see that happening any time soon. My plans are simply to gather a decent sized army and get it painted right now.

Got around to putting together and painting some more GG and ghouls.

1. Giving the newer wights some HW once I'm done with the wash and highlights.

2. Ghouls main coat of bleached bone is done, gonna give them a thin wash with devlan mud hoping it doesn't make them as brown as the previous batch. The unit filler (the white thing) is gonna be painted to look like a fetid well.

3. My main vampire.

There's a tournament in a week, hopefully I can get these guys done by then.

Everything looking great so far, the painting is a bit too clean and shiny for me but it works well and looks awesome as a hole, and not to mention your banners would be a crime, the free hand is too good. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
The sculpting what can I say, its awesome work if it where from a professional and you say its your first time I’m speechless. Silent
Looking forward to seeing more.

You're a sculpting magician, and I dig the paintjob on your abyssal terror as well.
Hope you find the time to do a little more sculpting, wouldn't mind seeing some more of it.

I know that it's been said but I cannot see that sculpt and not tell you how amazing it is. Here goes: although I'm sure that you know, that thing is amazing!

The colour scheme really lends itself well to the model along with the entire army. I'm looking forward to more.

Lol, thank you. And thanks as well to all the other people who commented.

Anywho, just a quick update, haven't touched my models this whole month though I did get some work done since my last post.

Added the great weapons onto the GG. Models still need alot of work, haven't added the spaulders(pauldrons?) yet.
Got some more ghouls. Painted and washed the skin with various earthy tones, pretty much it so far.
Most of the work was last minute to show up with something presentable for a tournament and not lose too much painting points, did pretty well.

Apparently the Dark Elf player had a bunch of old undead and VC models he figured he was never going to use. Ironicly, I sculpted the Abyssal Terror because I couldn't get my hands on the Melkhior model, until now.
The two vampires weren't the ones I expected, but I was looking for an armored vamp, and I got 2, so what the hey. One of em will probably sit atop the sculpted model.
So that's pretty much what I'll be working on these next couple of months.

That winged nightmare of the Melkhior omdel looks far better than the current model for it wich a bit like a dummy.

Yeah definetly. It's much smaller from what I can figure and I'm thinking it can double as a hellsteed. The smaller silhouette might also help it hide a bit more than the current model, and especially the one I sculpted...thing's one heck of a target.

That there is some great sculpting. Also i love the freehand painting on the banner, freehand is a great skill and you sir have it. The nightmare does have a low profile and in the game now that is important, however your sculpt deserves to be shown on the table top.
