Introduce yourself!

In a time of age old grudges, battles, victories and losses we tend to get confused of who are our allies and who are our enemies.

To avoid further confusion,, you should introduce yourself here, or capture all fame by starting your own topic.

Without further ado I'll start.

I'm Count Guillaume. I collect Vampire Counts for some years now, but have been more active on the Net than behind the painting or gaming table. I've got around 40 Skeletons, a mounted Wight Lord, 2 Necro's (1 mounted), 2 Bat Swarms and 10 Grave Guard.

Although, I've been pretty busy with 8 Silver Helms as a side paint project.

So yeah, that's me. Oh yeah, next week I'll be having to return to school to learn some.

Introduce yourself!

RE: Introduce yourself!

Hi MV, nice to see the new site is finally up and running. You've done a mighty fine job with it.
To bad none of the previous content will be hauled over. sad

Anyway, I'm Wolf Fang. Mod on the previous site and hoping that MV will reinstate me in my m(g)odly powers. grin
I've played Warhammer for quite some time now, focussing mainly on the painting aspect. I have a Wood Elf army, which is in desperate need of painting, but I'm easily distracted by other paint projects.
I've recently been hired as a pro painter by a company called EasternFront Studios and am still very pleased about that and never miss an opportunity to mention it.

Cheers, Wolfie

RE: Introduce yourself!

Hello all I'm FatOlaf, still trying to adjust to all this change
Anywho for those who dont know me, I too was MOD on old Carpe and also would like to keep my status
I have been playing WFB since the early 80's from 3rd Edition onwards, currently am aplying 7th with a small gaming group based in my house in Wimbledon, always on the look out for new players.
My main army is VC and the tales of Count Olaf are read by many people on Carpe and Warseer.
I also have a 4K skaven/ Lm army plus 2-3K of Tomb King.
I am also in the process of putting together a Cd army which is heading towards the 2K mark.
Anyway thats me, looking forward to everyone migrating over to our new home, now to start bringing my belongings with me...

RE: Introduce yourself!

Hello,

Darkness here.

Like everyone else, in the process of getting used to the change (finding myself visiting both sites and probably will continue to do so until the old one is shut down), but I like the look of the new place.

I play Vampire Counts, Lahmians, of course, as everyone knows that they are the superior bloodline and all you naysayers and cynics are just wrong!

If you haven't already noticed, alot of what I say is meant tongue in cheek, just my nature. Also like MV, I have been discussing VC on the net of late more than I have been playing or painting them. I think the last game I had was about 3 - 4 months ago, and the last time I picked up a brush was more like 8 months ago!

Though I have recently moved, which was sorely needed, moving from a bedsit depressing dump to a 2 bedroom place all of my own. So I'm expecting soon to get right back into painting and playing.

Just don't forget that the Lahmians rule the VC.....

""Damn you, Jean-Claude, damn you."
"That, dear Anita, was done long before you met me."

"Damn you," I said softly and with feeling. Jean-Claude smiled, "We've been over that, ma petite, you are too late."

Anita to Jean Claude.

Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series.

Hi all, I am Avaris, Grand Master of the Ordo Draconis over on the old site and hopefully here as well (assuming the bloodline comp restarts).

My vampire army is in hibernation at the moment, awaiting the new book, but my main active army is Bretonnians. My permanant laziness means very little is actually painted, but I am trying to not buy too many models till they are mostly done.

I'm back from the old forums, I have a Necrarch army, a themed Empire witch hunter army (Empire aren't on the list of armies on the profile editor) and have always planned to start a von Carstein army but never got round to it! Nevertheless, I'm done with Necrarchs and my favourite bloodline is definitely von Carstein.

I've collected for 6 years and played for 2 or 3. In the Nemesis War I was a heinous traitor and used my Empire army.

Seeing some new faces, but mostly old faces reappear on the boards.

Welcome to Sarthex and Vorador on the new Carpe Noctem forum! I haven't seen your names on the old board, perhaps it was different; either way I couldn't tell!

And hi to the old gang! cool

Wolf Fang Wrote:I've recently been hired as a pro painter by a company called EasternFront Studios and am still very pleased about that and never miss an opportunity to mention it.

I have searched for this company but never found it on Google. Care to link? And does it pay good?

Earn your position. Too bad that The Inspector and danceman didn't show up (for new people: the other 2 previous Mods). They're a good bunch, but have been inactive since the campaign (danceman longer though :cry2smile. Also too bad for DQ to literally stop with Warhammer.

Hehe I hope you are adapted by now. But why visit the old one? cool Just kill the bookmark and bookmark http://www.vampirecounts.net and you're set, never to look back
again.

Now, off you go, having posting your army in the P&M section it's time to fill the Fluff section with your stories. Actually, I'd fancy a good vampire story at the moment.

Avaris Wrote:Hi all, I am Avaris, Grand Master of the Ordo Draconis over on the old site and hopefully here as well (assuming the bloodline comp restarts).

Not sure where to place the bloodline comp fella yet. Might be something fun to do with it... but on a bigger scale.

Why not join our painting log? The more souls the merrier, even if it isn't VC you need to paint!

Hello again,

No as I used to play dark elves so I mostly was on druchii.net with another nickname( I still do) but a friend of mine used to browse from time to time the old site. I think his nickname was Wallac or so...taken from a vampire of the old editions 4th I think.

Oh by the way I have seen danceman on d.net. Actually in one of his posts I had discovered firstplace the old carpenoctem. I guess it was 1 year ago.

However I like being here now and I think I'm going to stay...

As if by magic - dancey has posted today on the old site - if he has been away/off-line he may have missed the move. I haven't heard from The Inspector for a while, and it is a shame about DQ.

To myself, Skaramak von Carstien, a long time player of Warhammer (the early 1980's, and tail end of 1st edition), and I suspect the most ancient of the vampires on this forum. Was put off WH40k at a very early stage (may go back at some point), but do play Mordheim when opportunity arises.

I live on a small rock just off the French coast in the English Channel/Atlantic with a number of other gamers (and several other people), and play predominately at our local gaming club (Jersey Privateers - part of the GCN)

I have been a member of the original CN for some years.

My largest (painted) army is HE, coming in at some 15,000 points including special characters. I also have large (>5k) VC, Lizardmen, Bretonnian and Empire, and small (<3k) O&G. You don't want to know what I have in bare metal and plastic, and WIP . If only I had more time.

RE: Introduce yourself!

I am FVC. Avaris knows me from the RToB, and way back in the dim dark ages when this site began I was around as Kothis.

Incidentally, I can't help but feel that EvC is stealing my thing. I have been FVC for around four years now, I think. Just because you added an extra line doesn't mean I can't curse you for a thief!

... no, it's cool. If more people are going for the _VC template, it must surely prove the inherent fantasticity of having such a username beyond all doubt, right? I like you, EvC, you've got taste.

Anyway, I also post on the RToB, W-E, and BB. I flatter myself that I'm slightly notorious. The least honourable knight in all of Bretonnia, which is just the way I like it!

However, I don't get to be a knight here. As this is a Vampire Count forum, it is only fitting I go back to what FVC originally stood for -

By the blood of Vashanesh, of the County of Sylvania, Lord of the Undead, Castellan of Waldenhof, Duke of the Grim Wood, Former Vassal of Mannfred, Chieftain of the Gepids, Formerly of the Von Diehls, his Dark Grace... Frederick von Carstein!

Bow down before me, all ye vampires, for I am your king!

...though in terms of character background, the continuing adventures of Frederick von Carstein currently have him exiled from Sylvania under pain of death. Mannfred grew a little impatient with him after, well, let's just say he was supposed to deliver a certain Bretonnian chateau into the hands of the undead. He didn't, Mannfred punished him, and in retaliation Frederick abandoned him at Middenheim, retiring from the field with his armies in a bid to seize power in Sylvania. Unfortunately he bet on Mannfred being held up at Middenheim, either in battle or being destroyed, which would allow him time to entrench himself. It didn't work, Mannfred got back early, and Frederick scarpered. Mannfred didn't catch him, but Frederick is now wandering the Dark Lands with no army, no money, and no equipment, knowing that if he crosses the World's Edge Mountains again, Mannfred's agents are sure to hunt him down. Sadly, he does not know that Mannfred is dead (again) and completely missed the rise of Waldikir.

But none of that is going to stop him from introducing himself with a list of titles a paragraph long!

Good evening. I am new to your cool website, so please be patient with me while I learn the ways of the Undead. I recently fought in the Nemesis Crown campaign as a Dwarf, so I know Lord Firmshaft. My favorite vampires are the Blood Dragons, for their military prowess.
Lady Darknesseternal, I agree that you Lahmians are the most sophisticated. For that reason, I find you the most frightening. But, I'll bet your parties are certainly memorable!

Ah, didn't notice this thread.

Greetings, I am Dracomancer, I collect a fair few armies, and VC are my latest, i've played them for a couple of months now, and am starting to get the hang of their way of playing (most of the armies I played before relied very little on magic, nice to try something different ^^), hopefully i'll be able to paint up some stuff for the painting log being set up, although I get the horrible feeling i'm going to get sidetracked with all the new Space Marine stuff coming out in October (Will always be an Imperial Fist at heart :winksmile

Expect tedious fluff and models painted to a semi-tabletop standard soon!
