Necrarch-Skaven Army?

Hey, I'm sure you've all heard of the rumors floating around the net about the 8th ed box set armies being Skaven and High Elves. Well, my friend plays High Elves and so we were considering splitting the box, and I've always wanted a Skaven army, but haven't been able to break away from my Vampire roots (theme wise) Vampire3

So what I was thinking, was making a Zombie Skaven themed army with a Necrarch Vampire at its lead.

The fluff would be something along the lines of: "A Necrarch who killed his previous apprentices with experiments, so he resorted to using rats and such as test subjects."

The Army would focus heavily around Rat Ogres (Undead Rat Ogres cheesygrin), Hell Pit Abominations, and other nefarious, disgusting, gigantic Zombie Rat things. Thumbs Up

And with the 8th ed Box, its looking like the best time to start them.

Whadda you guys think?

Oooh, imagine an allied Necrarch & Master Moulder, & the fun they'd have 'refining' each others' experiments ('refine' being synonymous with 'tamper' or even 'sabotage'), each maintaining the pretence of loyalty whilst vying to outdo each other with foul and wonderful creations, neither gaining the upper claw in their mutual ambition to thwart their closest enemy.

In short, this sounds like a great idea, go for it I say!

Ophidicus does not own a Black Coach. If, in future, he does own one, and during a game someone tries to "roll their pool of no power dice," never mind Evocation, they're getting the Enemacation of Death.

It is certainly a cool idea. I would picture this Necrarch wrapped in a massive cloak of rat-skins stitched together with a bunch of little rat bits running around his feet. Or maybe one of those electric coil thingys you always see in mad scientist's labs used as the top part of a staff.

Sounds awesome. Maybe consider using some clan Pestilens stuff too...nothing kills the living faster than disease! And an undead-converted plague furnace could be beautiful.

Well, I was sure that i wanted to use an Abomination, so I'm going to have a blast with that cheesygrin That just screams super-undead-horror. For I was probably going to have a Plague Priest as my General too (Plan on keeping this around 1000 points) Because it seems more fitting for a vampire then a normal Chieftan.

I'm also thinking about making the Vampire female and using this model:

I wanted her to be cute and innocent, but yet obsessed with moulding and experimenting with these rats. She's definitely insane wink

If they give you lined paper, write the other way.
