Something I'd like to see in the next book

Though I'm not expecting to see a new VC book for some time, one thing I'd like to see is a new bloodline of vampires that is based on werewolves. Thanks to items like the Talisman of Lycni (cough cough lycan), and varous other abilities, one can already create a werewolf themed vampire character. Essentially it'd be a beastialle vampire, an alternative to strigoi in this respect. It'd probably convey some bonuses to dire wolves, and what might be cool is to have an upgrade option for gouls, making them wolfkin. This might have the effect of say, removing their poisoned attacks, but giving them movement 6, and either +1ld, or frenzy. The goul boxed set wouldn't even have to change, you could just throw in optional wolf heads, since their posture, and claws are already animal-like enough. Also release a large werewolf model as an alternative to the vargulf, which wouldn't need to change its rules, as it's already quite monstrous enough (vargwolf). Anyway, that's my idea, it's what I'm doing for my army at the moment, but it'd be cool if something like it showed up in 8th ed.

RE: Something I'd like to see in the next book

Sounds like a solid idea to me.
I actually prefer werewolves/lycantrophes to vampires (heresy!), since I've always found them a bit more tragic. Plus they always seem to be the underdog (pun not intended^^). Vamps usually get all of the attention.
I'd rather see some kind of alliance though than a bloodline, but I'm all for options. I missed out on all the different kinds of bloodlines and I think it's a real pity GW took that all away without replacing it with something else (at least, that's the impression I get?).
So anyways, bring out that full moon and add some lycs to our forces. =)

I think they should bring back the bloodlines. I am not sure about the idea of lycanthropic vampires I wouldnt be able to take them seriously with all the really really really really bad hollywood action around vamp/lycan history.

I used to love the idea of feral vampires though and used to enjoy stirgoi whenever i felt like a change from necrachs.

RE: Something I'd like to see in the next book

the Strigoi blodline basicly was that, GW just made em hairless, but there is no reason for not having your varghulf as a gigantic wearwolf, seeing as it realy is just that, and the name basicly is wolf-wolf. And well, if you go for convertig a wearwolf army, i say go for it. there are some bloodbowl wearwolfs, and you can probably find stuff that works as and well, using counts as is no problem, just make the miniatures easy to tell apart, and explain what they counts as to your oponents, ghouls, whit some furr on as some lesser wolfmen, some kind of wolf riders counting as black knights, eternal movment explained by agile mounts and so on.... oh, and if you make such an army, post some pictures, i think it could look realy cool.
