Terrorgheist scream rule?

It says its used in shooting phase... surely this means only the vampire counts shooting phase right?

Also it says that it can be used against a single unit even if the terrorgheist has marched, charged or is engaged in close combat.

Can it scream to a unit that is in close combat but the gheist is not? Fly next to combat and scream at the unit in close combat?

RE: Terrorgheist scream rule?

Its a shooting attack, so yes this means only your own shooting phase.

I dont have the book to hand but I belive its similar wording to the banshees scream which is it can be shot at someone in combat that your base to base with. So no you cant scream at something thats already in combat withought first charging into the combat with the gheist too.

RE: Terrorgheist scream rule?

It can only be used in the VC shooting phase. Models are only allowed to make a shooting attacks in their own shooting phase (other then a Stand and Shoot charge reacion, which VC can't do)

It can only be used in CC vs a unit that is in B2B with the Terrorgheist. (ref: whatever pg the Terrorgheist is on in the VC ab)

Fantasy: Vampire Counts - 4k, Bretonnians - 3k, Dark Elves - 2k, Beastmen - 2k
40k: Eldar - 6k+, Chaos (Emperor's Children) - 3k, Dark Eldar - 2.5k, Sisters of Battle - 2.5k,

My Biel-Tan Eldar (2k - Mixed list)

I can only disagree that it is a shooting attack. Which Imo, it isn't.

I agree with your first statement, it occurs in the shooting phase.

Your 2nd statement... not so much. The screaming is NOT a shooting attack, it's not a war machine and no BS is used so the rules for neither can apply even though it occurs in this phase. It's a "magic attack" but not a spell and not supposed to be treated as one. It's not a breath weapon as it can be used more than once and uses no template. RAW, who the heck knows till we get a FAQ/Errata

RAI? Most attacks that can't be shot into CC it's got something to do with 'not hitting your own models.' Um this really can't hit our models per-say as there is no template and it's not like it's some big fireball. It's more a psychological attack to me than a physical one, but some would argue it's a 'shockwave' so mute point. In the end though as I haven't seen a clear cut category or rule for the power that answers this question. Till then, I'd play it as your group/TO sees fit.

"Kid, don't threaten me. There are worse things than death, and uh, I can do all of them."
