Well I haven't read the invocation yet, but if you do make a mascot for it, then how about a fitting tribute to the founder of this site, and make it the Master Vampire?

And right now, I've got two men. Two men with a gut full of fear. Ladies and Gentlemen. Boys and Girls. Dyin times here...

RE: The Invocation Issue #2
I thought it was a good issue, my biggest points are:

The Invocation logo floating in the middle of the front page...

Length. This issue seems to go on a bit to much for me, there could have been some more judicious editing IMHO. Or at least breaking some artciles up into multiple parts.

Minor criticisms however and keep up the good work.

RE: The Invocation Issue #2
I really like the webzine! I look forward to many more to come. My favorite parts are the "how to" and pics of others armies.

I suggest that you only include pics that are crystal clear. Also, I would like to see much larger pics in the how to section. I know that I can enlarge the pdf, but larger pics would e better, I think.

Again, great job!

RE: The Invocation Issue #2
Again, thanks for the feedback.

In regards to the pics, we do try out best, however having pics that are crystal clear, especially when enlarged increases their size. Considering the size of this issue, it is something we need to stay away from!

Hmm, I liked it but have some minor qualms, I will pinpoint them exactly for you when I read it more thoroughly tomorrow. I also plan on writing you an article...

If you want to write an article Voltaire then you will have to discuss it in the Invocation forum, in the discussion threads.

Of course we will welcome any feedback.

Really? Hmm that clashes with that the other feedback we had, one concerning the large size. I will certainly take it into consideration then. Maybe we could offer two versions - a high res and a low res one?

I believe Word of Hashut offers two versions, high which is the one you need if you intend to print the book and low for computer reading only. But you can check with Willmark on that one.

I might have to take a leaf from your book if you don't mind then Willmark. They do say copying is the sincerest form of flattery! cheesygrin

Don't you mean a byte from his .pdf? Everyone knows the printed page is obsolete.

Here begins the great proverb update initiative! n00bs of a feather blog together! A link in time saves nine! A watched (ebay) item never sells!

AHEM on topic:

I noticed the cover, specifically the position of the title, was criticised above, & it is a valid criticism. Due to the unfortunate absence of the original designer no more suitable picture was available than my portrait illustration, which had been planned as an interior piece & not composed with any title or other such functional text in mind, and having tested it with the title top, bottom & middle, I found the middle most appropriate. I would've preferred the logo without the misty cloud as this would've allowed much greater flexibility, but we must work with the tools we have. Eh well.

Incidentally, I support the idea of twin high-res & low-res copies, they both have functionality.

Have you guys gotten any complaints from people printing the book out? I know The Doom Seeker has a few people that print it out and they complained about 8 out of 32 pages being full color and killing their ink cartridges. grin

I don't think the logo was the issue just being at the middle. Usually with mags they are on the top.

DoN- feel free, Some people love issu so I make it available for them to read, I also use it for Gold and Glory.

One would assume that this is because usually the cover image is designed to fit an established format, a template that every issue uses. In this instance the cover had to be designed around the image as that was the only appropriate one available. As I say, the tools we have...
