About time I started a blog to keep track of what is going on.

I have been collecting Warhammer Undead since I was 10 years old. 15 years later I am finally finishing some of my units and going to beginner classes to learn how to play.

Here are the models I have in their various stages of completion. There are units missing here and there, which I have just not obtained yet.


and here is what I have completed as of this morning. (The vampire is not actually part of my planned force. I just painted her up so that I had a vampire to use in my practice games)

Current works in progress include:

Spirit hosts. Having seen the test samples of the new washes I am preparing my spirit hosts for their imminent arrival:

The progress is slow on the Skeletons due to the fact that I can currently only cast 4 shields a day:

Wow, those shield casts are awesome! Did you take the mold from existing shields or did you sculpt them yourself?
And for the Spirit host: LotR models are a slightly smaller scale then Warhammer. Do those Army of the Dead models work in conjunction with Warhammer VC?

They are spectres. Trapped souls. They don't need to match the scale of other warhammer miniatures. I am pretty sure that the current (and IMHO - absolutely ridiculous looking) Warhammer spirit hosts are larger than average miniatures.

You can't put a measurement on the size of ones soul.

The shield is a modified (i.e: Skull cut in half) version of the old Imperial plastic shields. Which sadly are no longer available. Anyone out there who still has the skull and crown motifs are welcome to contact me for trade.

and actually after taking a proper look. There is no noticeable scale difference at all.

Wow, I never expected LotR models to look that good in Warhammer! I may look into that for my Spirit hosts (if I can steal your idea, SethDrallitoc). As for the shield motif, I'll have to scour my bitz box, but I may have one or two of them.

Alright, I have good news, and I have bad news. The good news is that I was able to find a few of those Imperial shield thingies. The bad news is I was only able to find 2 after many long hours (ok, minutes) of searching. I also found a few cross things with little skulls on them that go in Imperial shields but I don't know if you want those.
Anyway, PM me you address and I'll send them along.

Yesterdays works included:

Spirit hosts: The fluff for these ethereal spirits is that they are a doomed court. A king his queen, 2 barons and their bodyguard.


I also started 'pimpin' my Black Coach.

Doesn't really save you any money though. Unless like me you had a whole bunch of LOTR miniatures that you were just never going to use.
