Vampire Count

Count Vladimir, despite being a creature of sorcery, has a distrust for powerful wizards. He has ties and pacts with various necromancers that inhabit the Old World, that he can call on when needed, but their services are not without charge.

For more... mundane... use, the Count keeps the minor necromancer Ansgar at his beck and call. Ansgar was typical of his kind, seeking out a Vampire to expand his understanding of necromancy and further his own power, but he was a weak man and was quickly bound to the Count's will, where he remains a reluctant, but powerless thrall.

Ansgar is a level two necromancer. He helps to bolster the Count's army through necromancy, and can usually be found skulking around amongst the zombies, for whom he has a certain fascination. He frequently makes use of magical items and foul enchanted tomes from the Count's collection. The zombies have a standard bearer, not pictured here, who will be completed at a later date :)

Thanks, Borgnine. Since the very beginning I decided to avoid any common colour scheme (but the banners) because of the nature of the horde (raising corpses here and there with no time to care about uniformity).

A lot of the minis are very old and I´m almost too so the retro feeling makes a lot of sense to me.

Magnificent work Dibidoolandas, loving that turquoise. And must say, your photos are perfect!

Thanks! Gotta credit the Mrs. for the photos - she has all the pro gear so I'm always making her take shots for me. xD

That is one beautiful corpse cart. I can only second Raven, and add that the eyes look extremely well painted. Interesting to see a step away from the standard black and white colours, but it looks really good. Consider me inspired.

Great use of colour! And the photos - on a first glance I wondered why someone posted here a GW photo - until I noticed the turquoise, GW wouldn't do that xD Wonderful work!

image.jpg image.jpg These are my Mantic Zombies so far, got a custom musician and standard bearer in there and even though he is just for decoration I have plans to add a "champion" model of sorts.

The idea is a rotting flesh look combined with the dark glow of necromantic magics.

25/40 Zombies done. On with the rest!
