Actually, with the rumored small numder of 9e factions (6ish), and the rumored small number of units/characters per new faction to start (again sixish), and the new models already having their rules in the box, I would not be at all shocked to see them ditch army books entirely to go with warmachine style rules releases - all the faction rules in the main rulebook, occasional expansions with a couple new units for all factions, plus everything gets their rules in their boxes as well.

Hmmmm... perhaps what they intend is to update some (or several) Special Rules, which of course make all the difference in the game, and thus adapt them to the new core rules (I mean Core rules, like the Phases, how to generate magic, movement, etc. in contrast to Special Rules, which don't need to re-release army books entirely, just update the keyword and how it functions).

I also assume that the Lore of Undeath will not change, since it's a pretty new release and it's rules are not overpowered unless you use Arkhan or Nagash, but we'll have to see.

Or Tomb Kings at US Masters with neither of those special characters and use the lore to summon ethereals :)

Although, if you're writing this guide for masters, you'll need to incorporate some serious comp considerations into your analysis.

To be fair the TK cheated in Masters. You most definitely cannot heal a heirotitan d3+1 wounds with breath of darkness. From what it sounded like it had been a close game, so 175 points+ weaker subsequent magic phases may have made a difference.

The US Masters was played under Swedish Comp which favors TK's a great deal and cripples other lists. The winning list also had favorable matchups as well, not to take anything away from the player of course, Winning the Masters requires being a capable general

Oh I am fully aware of that, but over at the TK forum we were a bit disappointed when we saw he was breaking the core rule of constructs 1 wound per spell. It obviously took great skill to get as far as he did, it just would have been nice if there hadn't been such a major rules oversight present in the final game. He deffinately took complete advantage of the swedish comp system and the use of lore of undeath to give him an effectively harder comp without the comp hit for etherals and terrorgheists etc.

We've revised @Demian Summoning Guide to bring the coloring coding in line with the rest of the Handbook and clean up the lists to make them easier to read and reference during game play. All of Demian's hard work is still there, just taken up a notch! Feedback is welcomed. Let us know if there are any adjustments or changes you think would make it even better.

Not sure if this is even possible but for example at the very beginning of the post a little "reference" link.

Say I wanted to go to the magic items I could just click at the beginning of the post on a highlighted link to magic items and it would take me there instantly ? Instead of having to scroll down the post.
I know it is laziness but it would seem like a handy thingy to me :)

Sunny and I are hammering out some solutions for ease of use right now. We are open to ideas and will probably put some Frankenstein version of the best parts and then get it in place.

Off the top here, but maybe spoiler tags with headers above to cut down post length? Readers could open and close tags as needed to cross reference.

So like:

Magic Items:

Etc..

Basically how Wikipedia mobile does their articles.

Good times. I'm looking forward to the Morghast bit before I go out and buy a box. Short version: I'd like to only buy 1 box, so I'm assuming Archai will be the way to go. And primarily for LoU summoning since Nagash and Mortarch Manny are coming put to play after I finish painting my Casket and Engine.

Morghast Archai are worth putting in your army. 3-4 of them. Summon the Harbringer.

I personally own 4 Archai and 4 Harbringers. I've used them in every (2x1, 3x1, 4x1, 2x2) configuration and summoned them. Both units are awesome. Harbingers are a lawnmower and archai destroy armored units, monsters and characters.

Has anyone run into the fat ass issue with morghasts though? I ran a 2x2 unit but even with an 11 inch overrun it's highly likely anything on the side of the board their on can see the flank of the terrorgheist size combined base.

It's the reason I dropped them.

I tend to run 3x1 or 4x1 when I run them on flanks. They run better 2x2 when acting as your center.
