And I finally finished the Coven Throne girls. Without all the freehand patterns on their dresses... that won't be fun. And after that there's till green OSL to do on the whole piece. I hope to post the finished piece this weekend..

Doing the pre-assembly painting on a bunch of Hexwraiths and green stuffing fire on a Cairn Wraith.

@Shadespyre The list is getting smaller and smaller, but it seems like you're saving something pretty phenomenal for the end.

@Borgnine Looking forward to seeing the whole thing put together :)

@Farmer7574 Patience my friend, it's going to be a long job. Started sketching in the base colours today, not 100% sure of the final colour sceme, but then I rarely am when I start off ;)

Managed a little work on that 2nd Corpse Cart this week. Gunna suspend work while I'm on vacation next week. I forgot how much this model has going on. Slow, but enjoyable to paint.

@Shadespyre Nice progress thus far!

Adding details to the two remaining spirit hosts I've assembled and still doing pre-assembly painting on my Hexxies. Hopefully I'll get that done soon and be assembling them this week.

Hexxies - how sweet ^_^ and, speaking of them, new GW color scheme for ghosts and spirits is interesting enough, but very monotone also. I see it a bit strange, but understand as well. There are two main methods to paint ghosts - fully immaterial as GW and only partially, for certainly some things like weapons are material. Or not?

@Menkeroth I haven't seen GW's new scheme yet but I toyed around with a few different ideas for wraiths in preparation for painting mine (fully material and fully ethereal) and have finally settled on the latter, although I am painting their robes dark colours and everything else light to avoid saturating them in the same colour.

My scheme is very monotone too but I think it works. You can check it out in my PLOG ;)

Here it is as uploaded - GW uses this scheme on all their spirits and explains also how to paint them, for example, in the "Getting started with the Age of Sigmar". The scheme is very easy and effective, but it is quite monotonous, is it not? I think at least weapons should be painted the other colors, surely they are material as they do damage material objects?

I certainly will ;)

Currently held up by the colour of some stockings - black too stark, shadow grey too blue, I think more red or more bone might be too much red or bone.... very annoying! Gonna keep repainting till something works I suppose...

@Shadespyre I recommend perhaps starting with black and highlighting up into crimson/dark red tones & adding a glaze to bind them - a satin dark red could really unite the colours and work out well...

Thanks, I like the idea. Aiming for a dark red which has a different tone / texture from the other red on the model? Let's see if I can do that ;)

edit: Happy now, on to basing!

So, one of the streamers I've been watching has an April/ May "Paint-Along." It's really just, "Pick a large model and paint it." Not anything specific. Well, I had two large models assembled and ready to be primed. A Lord of the Rings Balrog, and a Terrorgeist. Guess that's my paint-along. Whether or not I keep up...

@Borgnine He announced it. No real milestone-type goals. More like, a means to get everyone motivated. And theoretically accountable to other people. Deadline is end of May. Really the Terrorgeist is the main one to finish. The Balrog is an "If I finish before the deadline..."
Problem is, I've also been on a Tzeentch Arcanites building spree too, because of my Silver Tower sets...

Hmmm, sounds interesting. Anything to encourage getting a hobby job done is good!

I'm having a bit of a break, partly because painting my dragon puts me at the end of my VC project and partly because I need to tidy up my hobby stuff so I can fold out the sofa bed and make room for a house guest, all of which will keep me busy for a week or two.

And I'm back... tired and emotional after a very busy weekend. I've done a few bits and bobs but mainly sorting Space Marines into piles / units. Then I can think about what purchases I want to make and what I can let go of.

I am doing about 70-80 models of zombies at the moment and so far I didn't went mad ;) But they're not as samey as space marines, so maybe you indeed will go mad, @Shadespyre ;)

Other news, I bought some pigments today and rust made with them is easy and looks really good. I'll show it on the next update. I also have new water effect thingie, so more experiments to come!
I also bought the new Blood Bowl kit, painting those guys will surely be a change of pace and theme for me xD
