It's time once again to ferret out those murderous vampires in a new VAU - Vampires Amongst Us. A cross between Cluedo and a roleplay, sometimes gory and often hilarious! Find out more and sign-up! here.
I've got a little conundrum with the filler. The necromancer's assistant (the dead dude reading the book) is made out of spare Hexwraith parts from the Black Knights / Hexwraith gw kit. I personally like the look, but it's given me the idea to build my unit of wraiths using the same recipie. I...
And finally here's a closeup of the unit fillers. I needed the reader of the book standing a bit higher, and obviously I had some spare legs about, sooooo... I'll fashion him something for a staff as soon as I figure out something cool.
Been having major internet issue recently so updates have slowed down. Either tonight or tomorrow the painting will be completed. In the meantime, this is the fully assembled regiment.
Been meaning to update as it's been a few days. Later on tonight I'll have finished assembling (and resembling) the whole unit, enabling me to move onto just painting and basing. I feel like I'm moving at a snail's pace, but its teaching me a good lesson: Better to do something with what small...
Decided to fill out my skeletons ranks without buying another whole box. I found these while rummaging through some old things: I believe they're from Hero Quest (never played it, but kept most of the pieces for nearly 20 years! My stepsister used to play it with my dad growing up). I'm...
Here are the test subjects for the bone. This wouldn't be the finished style; just a 5 minute job to see the effect. Repainted green, then drybrushed with beige: ...verses giving a wash of green over the previous paint job: Personally I think it's too subtle to tell much of a difference...
So I have two options that I've thought of: either repaint the skelies green and highlight with bone colours, or gives them a few layers of green wash over the pain job already present. Any opinion or ideas of your own before I commit?
I moved home about a month ago from South to Northern England and some of my less protected models took a bit of a pounding... (we had like a week to pack up and shift - I'm not in the habit of abusing my little men). Since I'll be remodeling a bunch of them anyway, it's not too tragic...
Hi, all! I've started a plog on the Ninth Age forum and decided to mirror it here (since Carpe Noctem was my first and everlasting love). I decided to start one of these to see how it affects motivation. I've been inspired for years to build an undead army with a swampy theme, and a page from a...
That beastie is awesome! Kinda frightening just to look at! Do you necessarily need to clean up the blood on the bone, or does it not look like it might have splashed there naturally?
I guess it depends on how many Lore of the Vampire users you might have near the unit/s. A 100 man unit might not even need support (unless flanked...)
Took me an eternity to strip my brother's Skaven (he painted them when we were in our VERY early teens, and years later we wanted to fix 'em up), so I feel you there bro. I'm sure I can speak for everyone here when I say that we're all too happy to hear that. I haz a pride now!
