It's time once again to ferret out those murderous vampires in a new VAU - Vampires Amongst Us. A cross between Cluedo and a roleplay, sometimes gory and often hilarious! Find out more and sign-up! here.
Sorry for taking a while to reply, guys. I was quite busy and there's a lot to reply to. Wow, yeah this sounds very different from the Lizardman army I last fought against. Hmm, okay. Well, given that my army is mostly infantry, that's more than a little concerning. Would a terrorgheist...
I'm sorry, too. It was never my intention to annoy people by posting here. I'll do my best to avoid posting any complaints or such in future. It does look interesting, but I fear no one in my group plays it. Still, I'll ask the AoS players and see if any of them want to give it a try...
Ah, yes. I'd forgotten how much extra stuff they got. I imagine the bonuses from Grand Host of Nagash would prompt my opponent to target my General, regardless of what artefact I placed on the other vampire. That aside, you're right about redundancy being useful. In WHFB, killing my Vampire...
That's still rather disheartening, but fair enough. As I said, the Slann thing wasn't a complaint - just an observation. I was surprised that other previously-Lv4 casters have all gone down to one-spell-per-turn, but then Slann can cast 3. I didn't think they were *that* much stronger than a...
That probably would have helped, yeah. That's good advice. I'll try and get some games in with the models I have and see if there are any aspects that I'd like to focus on. Cheers.
So it's rare for them to be one-rounded? It's a "separate" game that was made by the same company to replace the old game and using the same models and (more or less) the same armies. Except that this is the equivalent of me wanting to use a Cleric model from 4th edition D&D in a 5th edition...
Thanks for replying, guys. I do appreciate your attempts to win me over to new Vampire Counts. But isn't that just a reason for your opponent to take them out in one round? Can't heal when you're dead. Or, more dead, I suppose. Yeah, I don't have a problem with their...
Yep, any disagreement on my part can't stem from any genuine opinion. I'm just trying to get everyone to hate everything. It's a hobby or something. Look, what I really wanted was to understand why Vampire Lords are supposedly great now (Something Unas the Slayer has been very patient with me...
So, just to be completely clear, you think that if GW stopped making rules for their games, people would keep buying their models? I can't even work out what you're saying here. o_o Okay. You realise that this completely contradicts your previous statement, right? You either care about...
Well, no, the models are just part of it. It's also about the game however much GW will say otherwise. Yes, I'm well aware. It's their company and they can take a massive shit on their own products if they want to etc. etc. Don't worry, I've heard the same apologist drivel plenty of times...
It's hard to read it any other way, to be honest. I'm sorry to hear that. Are you able to play at all with the old TK warscrolls they released (back when factions were first converted to AoS, before they started axing characters and factions), or are they too outdated now?
My apologies for expecting the army I spent a few hundred pounds on to remain in existence. What a foolish powergamer I must be. If you're the calibre of person AoS is catering to, then clearly I'm better off steering well clear of it.
I don't think I've got enough skeleton models for another block of 40. I could see if my group will let me proxy the GG as skeletons. Oh, while I think about it, is there a 'best' weapon for Skeletons or Grave Guard?
Okay, I think I understand. I imagine things will start to click more when I manage to get some games in. Thank you so much for all your help. Chaps like you are why I loved coming on this site.
Thanks, that's a lot of help. I'll make those spell swaps. Looking at my collection, I fear I don't have much to have in the way of mobility. Aside from the Terrorgheist, all I have are: - A Varghulf (which doesn't seem to be usable anymore) - 10 Dire Wolves - Some Bat Swarms For some reason...
The prospect of having to ally in my own army is something of an odd one. I guess I'm judging it by the standards of the old Vampire Counts. If we're setting the bar at first edition Age of Sigmar, then I can see how this would be a great improvement. ;) What if you want a Lord who can cast...
Thanks for answering those. :) One more thing I forgot about - do you still measure from model to model, rather than from base to base? Because that was quite possibly the worst rule I've ever seen in a game.
