Following the anti-Dark Elf tactics thread, here's one for use against the unholy Daemons of Chaos. Share your knowledge to help us all combat this horrifying opponent!

State your advice clearly under one or more of these categories,

Effective Tactics / Units to Use

Tactics / Units Not Recommended to Use

Enemy Items / Units / Tactics to Watch Out For

:siren:As with the other thread, this is not the place for in-depth discussion in regards to the advice that is shared. If you wish to debate on any specific topic, you're free to start up an independent thread instead.:siren:

    Up, up and away! :)

I have no idea if this will work or not, but I was just going through some play tests, and a vampire lord on a zombie dragon with aura of dark majesty, beguile, quickblood, and master strike equipped with gold sigil sword, helm of discord, and talisman of endurance would have a decent chance in just holding a greater daemon up until he gets that 6 to heroic killing blow it.

The strategy would be to use the greater daemon's low leadership against it. Get in 1v1 CC with it with your fly charge then force it to take the helm of discord's leadership test at -1 leadership, then beguile at -4 leadership if he gets that off. At best you're hitting him automatically, and at worst he's hitting you on 4's, rerolling successful hits. At the very worst if your luck is shit then yeah, you might be in trouble, but that's such a rarity, and he's not going to put 3 wounds into your lord. It could work, and would be quite hilarious if you even stacked it with hellish vigour.

I'm still a fan of Zombie dragon lord with giant blade, potion of speed, quickblood, beguile and red fury. Pop the potion of speed, and you're hitting on 4's rerolling, then wounding on 2's. Every wound you do, you get an attack back doing the same thing. You could effectively one shot the thing before he even gets his attacks back.
