Well generally since I kind of lost interest in my Nurgle CSM army I decided to completely redo it starting from scratch again to try getting it ready for an upcoming tournament this August in my hometown. here is what I have so far. Most needs some Green stuff to touch it up but still waiting on some to arrive which I ordered from my local Wargame supplier

This is the Warlord of my Army the Sorcerer Michael Vilepox (yes I named it after me I know) he uses the Finecast sorcerer with a scythe from the Deathshroud and the sword from the Herald of Nurgle the head is the standard bearer from the Corrupters of Pestilence

Here are a squad of 13 Plague Marines which shall form the personal retinue of the Sorcerer, They shall be deployed in a Spartan assault tank once I et that done. The squad is from the Avatar of War Corrupters of Pestilence to give them a more decayed and corroded look

Here is a Palanquin I am currently still working on which can be used by the Sorcerer or Herald depending on the game size so I am not permantly attaching either so I can just swap them around. Need some touch up and a base for it but happy with how it is going so far

Next on my list is a havoc squad, biker squad, a lord, 2 suqads of chaos marines, a spartan and a converted defiler. I should have some more up next week

Here is some of the new stuff I managed to get around to assembling the other day in my attempts to finally get my Nurgle CSM army finished now with some Daemon allies

    The Spartan
Right this was a pain in the butt, the amount of glue this sucker took to stick was annoying. To give it a bit of Nurgle flair I used the death guard doors as well as sticking certain bits on like the spare chaos chariot front plate I had left over which acts as the gun turret, a few Nurglings, the burning skull braziers and the mound of corpses from the corpse cart, a few tomb stones form the zombie kit to the sides as well a Nurgle Icon with a tombstone for the avatars of war corrupter kit. Since I had a Herald missing a sword arm due to cutting it off for my sorcerer I decided to cut the poor sod in half sticking him in the command hatch giving the impression the herald is the tank commander who is probably issuing commands to a Nurgling or Plague bearer crew plus his bell can act like a Dirge caster. Note I know some of it looks weird as certain bits stuck in odd angles but I am waiting on green stuff to patch them up as unfortunately I used all my green stuff sticking a vanquisher turret onto a Archo spider thingy for my soul grinder project which is I can't show yet for reasons

    Chaos Lord on Bike
I used the space marine Attack bike for this as I liked the idea that a Chaos Lord would be too mighty enough to drive his own bike, so I gave him his own personal chaos chauffeur to drive him around so he can whack stuff with his scythe without having to worry about trival things like driving a bike, the Lord is one of the Avatar of war corrupters of pestilence armed with a Deathshroud scythe and holding a brace of decayed heads from the plague bearers kit. The driver is the plain bike rider with a head from the chaos chariot spur with a plague bearer sword to give it a slight chaos feel, more Nurgle bits will be added I just ran out of glue as the Spartan took so much bloody glue to stick properly

    fba87ee419d45e8247b9c3bee8dafe53.jpg

    Plague Bearers
These guys are nothing really special just normal plague bearers as the kit already shows them as being Nurgle so didn't have to convert much..... though I did give a few plague bearers extra heads instead of arms as I thought it would be funny and was kinda bored

Next on my agenda is a squad of 14 Chaos Marines and a Soul Grinder converted using that huge GW Spider monster Archo Spider or something I think, then Ill have to try painting it o_o I usually get worried when I have to paint as I kinda suck at it and I can never to a good job of making the unique conversions I so love to do for a nurgle force the justice it requires Ill try to keep this weekly and get some painting down wish me luck

Here is some more of the other stuff I made up but couldn't upload as my camera was playing around, a small bike squad and a Grinder Of Nurgle

    9814afaf4faff11f3df5ddb8f04a24e3.jpg 06f3881df350d1a94759b25aaa01195e.jpg
Here is the Bike squad down with the forgeworld Iron Armour set, still needs nurglefying just waiting on more glue and green stuff

    Soul Grinder of Nurgle

Here is the Soul Grinder I converted using the big fantasy spider with a forgeworld vanquisher cannon and atyranid bit from the old maccrage starter set that makes it look like the cannon is coming out of a daemonic maw still going to add Nurglings and green stuff to the cannon end so it looks more daemonic and nurgle

I have got some paint and brushes so should be able to get onto some painting this weekend going to start off on the Plague Bearers and Herald before I paint the more complicated and converted models

Just out of curiosity what are forgeworld resin models like to paint compared to normal GW ones. Just since most of my conversions or units are resin I was wondering if they are harder to paint?

Well, the finer detail on resins can be a boon and a curse- it makes the final result look better with less effort, but it also means you have to be careful not to obscure such fine detail. Also, I think paint seems to bond better to plastics, though once the undercoat goes on that is not as much of an issue? I am no expert, but I have had the feeling that the paint just goes on better with the plastics I have painted compared to the finecast & forgeworld models I have painted. Its not really a hugely noticeable difference though.

On the flipside, if you ever need to strip paint from a model, it comes off forgeworld resin really easily compared to plastic- the plastic stuff I can generally only strip down to the undercoat or basecoat, the resin stuff strips bare with ease.

Thanks Sanai, I should have some painted pics up in a few days mainly of the Daemonic allies, though tomorrow will post more as I managed to assemble a chaos marine squad, Nurglings as well as adding more conversions to bikes and soul grinder just waiting till the glue dries. So I've finally got an army fully assembled I just need to paint it now

Well for my Nurgle Daemons (which have not had even an undercoat yet) I was thinking about lots & lots of bones on the bases- sort of like a non-fantasy version of the plain of bones in warhammer.

edit: and maybe some pools of that GW effect paint- the nurgle slime one

Always good to see some Nurgle wonders :)
Loving the soul grinder, great conversion.

What Sanai said about basing and plains of bones made me think of some basing effect I saw some time ago. I even believe that the tutorial was posted here on CN, but now I can't find it. I did find it over at the Chaos Dwarf forum so here it is. I'm guessing that pretty much the same effect could be achieved with that new cracking paint GW has. An idea at least.

Wow thanks Mad' At thanks for the idea I have to try it as it seems like an easy way of basing my army.
Here is some more stuff I converted mostly just some mucking around with the bikers and lord to make them even more like Nurgle

Since these guys will be a normal chaos marine squad with marks of Nurgel I wanted them more different than my plague marines so decided using zombie bits to make them zombie marines so they still look decayed but not blessed like a plague marine

Just some foot wielding zombie marines

    d0d103180ad08112211fee052332dbcc.jpg

Edit: I probably won't have any more stuff for a week or so as I'm working all this week :( but should hopefully get at least one squad painted by the end of the week

well I managed to find a small amount of motivation to paint again though only enough for a hellbrute

I thought I would try a new paint scheme for my Nurgle Marine to make them stand out I thought a pale blue would suit them. Still doing a few test models this sucker was one of the few that turned out good, still experimenting but this is what I am trying to get my marine models looking like
    4101418eba6c90e540053d65725d542a.jpg

Also on another note I as a sort of impulsive buy I brought a box of the Avatars of War Corrupter's of pestilence with shields. I have decided to convert another plague marine squad though as a chaos Breacher squad I am also thinking of maybe painting up a small warriors of Nurgle army as well

Looking good. The blue armour on that Hellbrute works great. Would be awesome to see more nurgle stuff painted like that.

IMG_1972 (1).JPG IMG_1970 (1).JPG IMG_1973 (1).JPG IMG_1972 (1).JPG Wow I am really struggling with painting stuff lately I think its because I'm worried that I will make it look bad anyway I started painting the Palanquin of Nurgle. Instead of trying to paint each Nurgling in a decayed colour scheme I thought I would go with something different so it is more stand out especially for the rider (when I finally paint him) so painted the Nurgling in a ghostly ethereal scheme 1 for the fact I was slightly lazy as well as tryingto have a ghostly theme for my army. Now to work out how to paint the sorcerer to ride.

Apologise if photos are bad I need a better camera

    IMG_1972 (1).JPG IMG_1970 (1).JPG IMG_1973 (1).JPG IMG_1972 (1).JPG

Also does anyone have a good way of stripping paint off models or repainting already painted models as I am very tempted to repaint my entire Nurgle Daemons like ghosts or at least the Nurglings at least
    Cheers
