Roll-up! Roll-up! Come one and all the fantastic Turning the World to Darkness painting competition. Welcome to any skill level, you can find out more here.
It's time once again to ferret out those murderous vampires in a new VAU - Vampires Amongst Us. A cross between Cluedo and a roleplay, sometimes gory and often hilarious! Find out more here.
That's a brilliant tutorial @Borgnine - the end result is very effective and looks realistic. It is also something that I think most people would be able to do. I know you've posted up various little bits like this, perhaps we could look at updating the painting tutorials with all the ones...
Nice idea! I can see where you are coming from, and they would potentially look more ghostly. I think it would certainly need blend between the clear plastic and some artistic touch-up to get the right feel, highlight some of the detail which may otherwise just merge into the model. I don't...
Yes, one of the failings at the moment of AoS for me is that they are very focused on the main and heroic characters. I miss the underdog feel of the Empire, along with their personalities. True, it was perhaps a sweeping generalisation! There can be of course some interesting novels and fluff...
So, for some of us getting back into AoS after a long hiatus, the summoning mechanic can be a bit a different concept to wrap our head around after previously casting spells. Can anyone provide a bit of a friendly overview, and maybe examples of good tactics?
She might not always be at the forefront continuously throughout the novels, but I found her involvement to be well balanced - I'd certainly recommend reading them...not for £57 though! Typically, the Genevieve novels tend to be a more rounded cast, rather than just solely focusing on her with...
An interesting thought. The Nighthaunt book highlights how some of them still have their own personalities and not just mindless spirits, like Kurdoss. I would well imagine he would have a ghostly fortress if Nagash allowed him, I think it makes it more interesting as well, the shades of grey...
Thanks for the recommendations guys, knew you'd come through xd I'll definitely pick these up, Nagash Undying King and Spear of Shadows sounds really good.
Well, it doesn't look like there is much interest in this at the moment which is a big pity. Always loved these. I'm going to still leave it here, and hopefully if some people express an interest I can start it. I can run this with a small number of people, just reduce the number of special...
Really...no recommendations at all? :(:'( Well, I'll keep on looking then. I saw an article saying that the Callis and Toll novels were good. Might pick them up first and see.
Ah, I was reviewing this with nostalgia the other day, some of the older WHFB are brilliant. I think Zacharius still looks amazing although I'm dubious about the dragon and his pose. Settra is also a brilliant model, and I reckon with some slight tweaking and surrounding ghostly spirits he...
It's an interesting conversion. It will certainly need something like the Morghast wings, spirits etc as otherwise, I don't think it will look deathly enough. But with all those bits, plus a suitable paint job should look good. As for playing it, as long as it is the same base size as the...
Same here, I was gone for much longer and coming back has made me realise how much I missed this place Same here - I loved the original fluff of the Martial Blood Dragons, and to an extent, they will always be that way to me. Really loved the close up pics of the ladies on their winged...
Lots of good points made xd Plus some more insights into the game I hadn't realise either Yes, I like this one as well. At times in the Old World it felt like they were pushing it with some of the match-ups - the gateways in the Mortal Realms make this more realistic, but it does seem like...
@KillerK I do very much enjoy! What model is that, I don't recognise it? Really like the themed paint job with the snowy base. Though I'm curious, if you're still working on it, what else are you doing to it?
