It's time once again to ferret out those murderous vampires in a new VAU - Vampires Amongst Us. A cross between Cluedo and a roleplay, sometimes gory and often hilarious! Find out more and sign-up! here.
Elite/ HQ choice: Chiropteran Deathnought. (basically think of a venerable dreadnought, but instead of a half-dead space-marine inside it, a Chiro has used his nanos to incorporate himself into a large 'war body'. this could be from one of the houses, probably the one that has focused on technology.
wonderful job everyone! I'm bummed i didn't have anything ready for this golden bat, but hopefully next time round i'll be able to pull out some dark magic! It was a tough decision, but Redarmy's vlad won me out eventually, for one specific reason; the perfect look of terror on the dead...
I recently picked up some mechanithralls for my cryx posse, and had a laugh at the concept of zombies with powered fists. At first it seems outrageous, but if you think about it, with a zombies pitiful strength (as in WHFB zombies) and penchant to strike last unless fighting inanimate...
RE: Physiology Of a Fiend the natural sonic ability to which he is referring is the advanced echolocation that the cythors employ to navigate the vast, lightless subterranean caverns in which they developed. After encountering the Chiro's, i imagine the tech-savvy vamps probably found some way...
it does, however i'm thinking since the chiros were originally tech-adepts of Mars, they didn't originally have any innate powers, other than mechanical knowhow and bionic enhancements that tech priests love to sport.. Once the nanobots were introduced, it became mind over matter, and some...
im thinking it's more like they focus their nanobots in different ways, to boost either their physiology, mental capacity, dexterity etc, as opposed to just the sheer quantity of the nanobots that make them all-round more powerful.
I'm still tossing my hat into the ring for the chiro's having some way less complicated, but equally cool stuff, like poisonous needle launchers, and all sorts of rings and ornaments that shoot lasbeams or scatter lasers Yes, I'd like my Chiro to be able to take people out with his bling! hehe
hmm. I think the weapons you are referring to are 'splinter' technology rifles, which are a little different to Needlers. as far as i know, splinter tech uses a solid core, which is then split into tiny 'splinters' that are (magnetically?) projected at the enemy. needle pistols and such actually...
I'm kind of digging on Beeblicon's sonic spike-carbine idea, but there's one thing that's niggling at me, and that's the worry of crossing over into Noise Marine territory... I like the idea of the cythors having some technology based around their own biological sonic capabilities, but if the...
how did you guys like my possible explanation for the Cythors at the top of page 4? Sound plausible, or does it need more work? also, Beeblicon's post on the official fluff seems to fit pretty well, since their homeworlds were "strangely deserted" when the Black Templars arrived.. maybe they...
The official chiro writeup is perfect! haha! Reading this, and seeing how wonderfully it has come along is like getting the best birthday present ever! I think the Cythor fiends definitely started on this planet, or were a race that crash-landed and began underground life anew, long long ago...
very true, codex:cryx would be unimaginative and disappointing. Furthermore, since this army will have no official range of products, we are all probably going to be using vastly different models to represent the rules and stats we write up anyway! I was more meaning to use these models as some...
RE: Physiology Of a Fiend http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gallery/legion-of-everblight/warbeasts/nephilim-soldier I could see a Cythor fiend in this guy. he looks tough, bat-like, subterranean, and definitely would benefit from echolocation since he doesnt seem to have eyes! Perhaps we...
Count Erick, you've done it again. superb ideas! I was thinking, for the house joro concept, or perhaps for the entire bloodlines analogy, we could make it completely unisex, by that i mean the lahmian-esque characters wouldn't necessarily have to be lady Chiros, just svelte and leather-clad...
skimmers sound perfect, i think we may have to work with the concept to avoid them becoming too dark-eldar ish, maybe make them closed-topped and a little heavier, or some other special rules to make them more tailor-made to our new project. stealth fields maybe? anyway, the idea of having some...
sounds like a great bloodline/perk option to me, makes them more open to some warp travel capabilities, and would work well for a less physically powerful but mentally potent (necrarch-ish) Chiro!
oooh this is going so well! I love the way this idea is evolving, and the addition of the pyramid style social hierarchy seems absolutely awesome! Vamp lords, Elite, bestial cythors, some nano-thrall zombie like servant/meatshield class sound like an awesome core. I don't suppose the Cythors...
for the sake of having to scroll back through numerous posts, this is what i have fluff-wise so far. Disciple has said he likes it, but any and all opinions are welcome: Lets say not too long after the disappearence of the fledgling primarchs, when the Emperor was conducting his studies into...
Perhaps the Cythor fiends, after encountering a dark power with similar goals could be an allied contingency to this army, kind of like the Tau have Kroot and Vespid? Perhaps if they took up an Elite choice, or were the equivalent to a command squad they could be a fairly formidable addendum...
