It's time once again to ferret out those murderous vampires in a new VAU - Vampires Amongst Us. A cross between Cluedo and a roleplay, sometimes gory and often hilarious! Find out more and sign-up! here.
Don't forget that lightning bolt always hits on 4+ too. Stealthy individual hiding in a forest? Normally that would be -3 to hit. Not with lightning bolt ;)
Hi, I'm currently working on my creative writing master's degree so a lot of my time is spent with that. However, occasionally I write the odd short story for pleasure. They tend not to be warhammer related, but I'd be happy to send in any vampire counts stories I write if you're interested? :)...
I'd probably go the Necrarch route. Not all that fussed about waging war for the most part, I'd spend most of my time tinkering and improving my undead servants. Is a zombie better off with hands in place of feet? Can you grow a fell bat on a ghoul's back? Why shouldn't skeleton warriors be...
Whoah there's a lot of negativity in this thread! Personally I'm a fan of the podcast. Sure I might not agree with everything they suggest, but it's nice to listen to them while painting or travelling and there are quite a few tactical gems in their episodes. Also I like the odd tangents they...
Vampires and Chaos may not mix well, though I seem to recall one novel suggesting some vampires may attempt to seek favour from the gods but it was unclear what became of them. The undead in general though can easily have some crossover with chaos, especially in the case of Nurgle. Valnir the...
Your army is really shaping up to be something special I'll definitely be watching this with interest. I especially like the fact that despite using the garden of Morr pieces (which really are quite large as I found out myself) your ghouls still look like a huge horde. Very well done :)
Thankyou :) I probably won't be writing for pleasure for a while as I have a mountain of work to do, but next time I do something I'll post it up. Glad you enjoyed it.
Hi folks, only recently got back into vampire counts with the new book out. In a red bull infused frenzy of coursework writing I decided to also write a little fluff for my current vampire counts project. Hope you enjoy it. It was a quiet night at the Orc's Head. Unusually so given the...
Personally I'd be fine with it as long as there's enough distinction between the zombies and the zombie ghouls. It will depend on your opponent though and if you intend to take them to a tournament you will need to clear it up with the organisers first.
Special characters can be quite cool, but GW occasionally pull a character straight from hollywood (Sly Marbo anybody?). This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but if we end up with Edmund Kullen I'm leaving the hobby...
Thankyou for the suggestions guys, I have to head to work shortly so will make a full post later. The combat lord with blood drinker is a great idea, definitely frees up some of my magic phase to use invocation and danse macabre. Blood knights i could possibly make in time out of dragon...
They are awesome models, BUT, I just wish they weren't Nurgle. Considering how easy it is to convert Nurgle things, it makes more sense to simply make your own than pay forgeworld prices in my eyes. The few sneek peaks of chaos dwarfs elsewhere caught my attention though
In 7th it was one of the first things to go in my list. In 8th it's something I take if I have points to spare. I would definitely recommend taking one before you start adding "toys" in, but at the same time I've found I can often get away with not having one. The chances are if somebody...
Ok, in a couple of weeks I'm going to a tournament with some of the harshest comp I've seen and I wondered if people have any advice they can give me. I won't post the full comp as most suggestions can be easily tweaked to fit, but here are some of the rules that will likely impact on army...
If you're torn between chaos and dwarfs, why not go for CHAOS DWARFS? Mantic is doing an army for them, Warhammer Forge is doing stuff for them and there are plenty ofgood (unofficial) rulebooks to go by. Get on the Chaos Dwarf bandwagon before they become fshionable :)
Personally I would go for dark acolyte, there are only a few spells your Lord really needs to cast and you have a good chance of rolling a double with 4 dice. Also that +1 to cast may not sound like much, but it can make all the difference at a crucial moment. Furthermore, if you plan on...
The blood kiss, much like warpstone, is one of those things that GW pretty much does whatever it wants with. Having said that, the fluff generally supports the fact that the blood kiss passes on some of the traits of the associated bloodline. How it interacts with the victim's personality...
