Thanks, Rob! They turned out more late 1970s horror than I was expecting, and I'm happy with them. I've kept a fairly limited pallet with the whole army (pretty much just green, purple, black, white, red, and of course bone). And I can't sing Tamiya Clear Red's praise enough.

As promised, ten more Zombies. Some more of the Cursed Company models, a homemade Beastman and Skaven, and my second Zomblin unit filler.

And because it's been a while, and because it helps me feel like I've made progress, here's an updated shot of the whole gang. 5 models needing paint, 2 more Zombogres to build and paint, then I'll be cranking out Zombies until (hopefully not the night before) the tournament we're hitting in June. Thanks for stopping in!

I LOVE the beastman and skaven skellie conversions. Where'd you get the rat skull? Painting all looks great and I can't believe the progress you're making so quickly. Good on you for having a plan and sticking to it.

I gotta say, though... something seems a bit "off" to me about the zombie giant. I think it's the base... to me, I'd think it needs more action/dirt being thrown around... seems like if a monstrous creature like this was forcing his way out of the ground, there'd be a lot more sod disrupted and holes everywhere, rather than just some gravel around a perfectly flat base.

Mind you, the existing paintwork is great and I love the gravestone bracer. Just some food for thought. Keep up the great work!

Plot twist: What if the poor souls that slayed the giant before dug a hole which they thought was deep enough, with the plan to bury the giant? And then, when they slipped him into the grave... :scared: we didn't dig deep enough:scared:?

xD

But I agree with you. While I love the idea of the himself undigging giant (and will do so too with my leftover giant parts:clown: ) I think there must be some more dirt, soil and stuff. And I agree too, this is just criticism that can be overheard, cause it looks awesome already how it is ;)

@ben Thanks! The rat skull comes on the old Skelly sprues I had from 6th edition. Those two Skellies were wicked fun. And the Experiments Check-off Poster has been great motivation. I love how close to the bottom it is now.
@13 Glad you like him. And I agree with you guys, there isn't much on the model implying motion except the understood scale of the body still "buried underground." Would that I could measure up to Mad 'At's awesome zombie filler. https://www.vampirecounts.net/Thread-The-Undead-Legion-of-Countess-Ludmila-von-Carstein?page=15

Thanks, guys. She's closing in on being finished.

Took some time to do some assembling. 30 Mantics turned into 40 without too much creativity needed. These guys get me to 100 Zeds, 60 with paint on them.

20140505_200858.jpg

I like the Zombie getting his Freddy Mercury on in the back corner of this one.

20140504_002259.jpg
So 100 Zombies, 34 of which are on unit fillers. I'll call that fair.

And the first stages of a magnetized Tbat base for Elvira. Stay tuned.

Closing in on the finish line. Blood in the Sun is less than a month away. Lots of things coming together. Last two Zombie Ogres built, bringing the unit up to the 8 I need for my list. Also a bit of work on the 20 Zombies back there. As you may recall, I get to enjoy grape flavored Zombos for much of the time I'm staring at them.

Elvira, of course, started as an Abyssal Terror mount for my Necrarch. The need for a 2nd Tbat saw some shifting around, but I took the opportunity to make a magnetized base so I can go back and forth from Abyssal to Tbat as the fancy strikes me. Those metal corners on the base edge are going to get some spikey metal fence bits whenever my bits order shows its coward face.

You have been busy. All looks great. Those zombie ogres are very cool as are the ghosts. The skull on your AT/TG conversion is very cool, and I like the magnetized base

Love the ogres, they really make great crypt horrors when converted up. My favourite has to be the one with all of the random peasant weapons strapped together for an arm. What happened to their bottom halves if you don't mind my asking?

What is Miss Elvira on the tabletop? Another terrorgheist, a zombie dragon, or an abysmal terror?

@Raven I owe you a beer if I ever meet you. She's exactly what I wanted for my Lord's gribbly. Thanks for letting me rip you off.

@Rob Thanks, mate. You're one of the guys around here that kept me motivated. I owe you an upside down beer if I ever end up in your hemisphere.

@Burnanation Thanks! Glad you like it.

@JC Thanks, man. I like that we both used 6th bloodline models for our riders. And see above groveling to Raven, whose idea I shamelessly stole.

@Kingside Thanks for the kind words. I bought the bits without legs knowing they would be crawling out of the ground. Sawed the bottom flat and called it good. Elvira can be alternated between a Tbat and a smaller Abyssal Terror base via magnets.

How's this for news?

That's a wrap, gentlemen. But no time for pics of those last two Zogres and The Good Doctor becaauuuuuse--

I'm all packed up for Blood in the Sun 2014! I made it. A finished army! Pics and things after the weekend. See you then.

Congratulations! Be sure to let us know how your games go. A freshly raised and painted army is sure to do well :konrad: I will take you up on that beer if you ever find yourself down under

I look forward to seeing some more pics of the finished army.

@robtion Dude, it was the most fun weekend of all time. Definitely going back to BitS this summer. I finished somewhere towards the mid-bottom, going 2-3 (Wins against Dorfs and Ogres, loss against WoC, DE, and HE--but I threw my Vampire Lord down a magic hole first turn in that game).

@Duke Danse Macabre Cheers! She was a blast to build and paint. All praise to @Raven Torrid for the build, and @akiro27 (who I met at BitS--Luke's a super nice guy) for the wings inspiration, and @Santawraith whose skull idea I ripped off from his DE jet.

Damn, it's been a while dudes. I haven't touched a brush since the night before I left for Chicago. But October is paint season, so I'm back at it. Not much to show right now. This is mostly shaking the dust off my bones. But I've still got some pics to send up of The Good Doctor and the whole army, so stay tuned.

Zombiiesss! To get me back in the zone, I'm starting 20 Zeds from primer. Next wil be 20 more that I left about 85% done last summer. Didn't get much past basing some skin tonight. Grape flavored Zombos inbound.

20141015_211206.jpg

So that's my update. I'm back at it, boys. Already have my Heirotitan coming in the mail. Planning my Casket of Souls. And damnation, you can't imagine how many Skaven models are sitting on the desk next to me. See you here again soon.

Keep going, mate!

@Seneschal Thanks, mate! Miss Elvira is a crowd favorite around the gaming group. She gets targeted first every time.

So I'm trying a new format here. An hour or two a night, lots of micro-updates instead of the usual work on a unit a week and then post. Mostly necessitated by my work schedule/continued education hours for my EMT recertification classes.

Base coating continues. x20 grapezomb unit, now with some black slacks.

20141017_222041.jpg

And the base for my heiro arrived before the model. Basicks 50mm graveyard base. Super cool, a little on the expensive side.

20141017_223101.jpg

That's all for now. I'll post Kemchi and Edward Harpoonhands after my next session.

@Tjhammer Thanks for giving them a look. They'll be battle ready quick as can be.

@akiro27 Cheers, Luke. I'm stoked to see your Morghasts!

Now everybody has pants! The skin greens go down while the levels are still wet, so I have to batch paint them in fives. Until then, 2014: The Grapening continues.

20141022_225325.jpg

And, as promised, Kimchi the fermented Zombogre, and Edward Harpoonhands. He just wants a hug.

And my Super-Wraith Heirotitan arrived. Gunna deal with that ebay paintjob first thing after the Mantics are done. He's super tall (right at Abom height), but very thin, so I may be filling out the base with something or other. Necron Nightbringing, defs one of my favorite models ever, and I finally have an excuse to paint one.

More Heiro bits have arrived! That's not the final positioning, of course. Nothing's glued yet, but I think he'll be impressive.

20141030_192809.jpg

Whereas a Wraith is pretty much your classic Grim Reaper, what I've got in mind for my Heirotitan is some sort of Super-Wraith. Think an Angel of Death raised in the service of my army. All the green witchfire on those wings.
