@Summerfield: By all means curse away ;) Glad to hear it is an inspiration.
@Theerteen: Thanks again, your comments are always entertaining and very motivating
@Hairyjeff: Thank you, hopefully it inspires awe, and more importantly fear in its enemies :vampire3:

Well tragedy has befallen my wood elf spell singer :| For some reason she decided to take a stroll into the darkwoods and it seems they had their way with her, as she is looking a little more undead these days :konrad:

The vamp is awesome, rob! I'm definitely a fan of the dark to light black and greys contrast. Killer work as always. She looks just how I'd picture a LoShadows caster.

I'm just speechless from all the pieces.
I have a dumb question though, are the hair just pure black and highlight? Or there is some layering or blending in there?

Thanks for the replies guys glad you like

@Emicrania Generally I use some layering but it is very subtle on the elf vampire, so basically just black ;)

Finally got a little time off work so hopefully will get a bit of painting done

Here is my Golden Bat entry. Thought I would go ahead and attempt some OSL at @Zhatan suggestion. I am fairly happy with it for a first attempt.

Unfortunately I have had to enter it in the Master category having won the Apprentice category previously.

So here is my previous GB entry which lucked out and won the apprentice category a couple of years ago. He has not yet fallen under the influence of the Dark Woods, but who knows what the future holds, no one is safe :scared:

Currently working on a Zombie Dragon, though don't expect a dragon exactly. Hopefully get it done in the next 2 weeks :vampire3:

Looking great, I love the mass of bodies surging the engine onwards!!

Looking forward to see your take on a zombie dragon - I like the idea of a treeman possessed by dark necromantic power, butproably not what your going for :)

Been way too long since i peeked in here, good to see you've been busy, Rob.

Good luck in the GB comp. Really love your last entry. And that ME is so disturbingly good. Really like the surging forward feel on the dead'ones

@Pigeoneater Thanks. You were pretty close really, as it is kind of a conglomeration of treeman, dragon, and other bits and pieces, as seen below.

@Melle Thanks for stopping by my neck of the woods ;) Thanks, the MEwas great fun. You should enter the GB your stuff is all great.

@Duke Danse Macabre @goat64804 @hairyjeff Thanks a lot, I appreciate the comments, always a nice motivation booster.

So here is an undercoated WIP of my zombie dragon. It has the burrow rule as opposed to fly and I will poster more pics of details etc once painted

@Scott_K @adicto @Reaper @michael Thanks guys, hopefully you like the painted version of my Zombie Dragon as seen below.

Background: Rupture, Burrower of the Dark Woods (Zombie Dragon).

Before the darkness crept into the forest an abundance of creatures made it their home. Chief among them an ancient treeman, Oacyning, protector of the enchanted woods. For centuries he defended the forest from all manner of intruders, the most terrible of them his nemesis, the great dragon Morw. Their final battle ended both of their lives, their smouldering, broken remains lying together in a long forgotten glade, in the darkest depths of the forest.

In as cruel twistof fate, in death the two mortal enemies have now been melded together into a horrific burrowing Wyrm known as Rupture. The twisted vampire lord who controls this beast carries with him an enchanted scroll allowing him to become ethereal at will, facilitating his travel through the earth along with his horrific mount.

Wow!
I'm so glad you've painted this. Not only does it look great, but in the unpainted pictures I had a lot of trouble deciphering what I was looking at and figuring out what was going on. Now that it's painted it all makes sense!

And it's freaking amazing.

@Shadespyre Ha ha, thanks  I am flattered by the blanchitsu comparison.

@Von Calyptra I know what you mean. It was kind of a complex looking conversion with all the branches and stuff, hard to get a decent photo of. You are a true artist so I am really glad to hear you like how it turned out

@Blutsauger Thanks a lot. I was not sure what people would make of it as it's kind of out there but I think it looks good with the rest of my army and fits the evil forest theme well

Damn man, you really love to make a song and dance about your basing. ;-)

Got to say though mate, I love it, it just adds so much to the units themselves.

@Duke Danse Macabre Thanks. Yes basing is fun  With Rupture I don't really consider there to be a mini and a seperate base, it is kind of all just the one thing. As the idea is that he burrows through the ground and has different limbs and such bursting forth all over the place it is meant to be kind of foggy as to where the mini ends and the base begins. In theory at least o_o
