Hello,

This thread is for archiving the various tips, builds and strategies that can be of use when fighting The Empire. This first post will periodically be updated to include the input that has been given in the thread. The categorization is the same as with the earlier threads,

Effective Tactics / Units to Use

Tactics / Units Not Recommended to Use

Enemy Items / Units / Tactics to Watch Out For

:siren:Note that this is not the place for in-depth discussion in regards to the advice that is shared. If you wish to debate on any specific topic, you're free to start up an independent thread in the main section of The Teachings of Abhorash instead.:siren:

Thank you. :)

Units to use against Empire:

Ethereals.

Empire feature very few magic attacks as no units can have magic attacks and the heroes tends to be kitted for a support role. Only actual magic and combat resolution is likely to hurt your ghosts.

Furthermore ethereals are useful for both warmachine hunting and most especially pinning down some of the tougher stuff empire have like Demgryph knights or steam tanks.

Dire wolves:

Always useful and with all the war machines and detachments they suddenly have a lot of targets where they might even win.

Vampires:

The tactic is against empire will invariably be "Whack the Crutches". By themselves all empire units are relatively bad fighters and severely overcosted. In fact only Flagellants and the Steam Tank can operate effectively without buffs.

The tactic is therefore to quickly take out the warrior priests, hurricanums and to a lesser extent other characters as without those the empire will switfly keel over.

Vampires are really great forkilling empire characters. Just be sure never to accept a challenge. Van Horstmann's (red)

Banshees: Terrorgheists aren't too great against enemies with cannons and hellblasters, but this is where banshees shine. Wonderful against knights and steam tanks as she can both hold them up and kill them at the same time.
