So, just a reminder for any one chipping in on this; the main reason for this is to purposely bring back the Bloodline specific vampires/armies from earlier WHFB editions and CN has created and updated these for 7th/8th editions.
The aim of this specific thread is to agree any core changes which would either apply to all the vampire bloodlines, or principles of balancing to take forward when looking at the vampires specifically. We want to update the previous Bloodline Armies, but make sure we're being balanced and fun, that could mean nerfs!
So with that out of the way, I've also looked at the Renegade Rules changes which are the following to see if we should include them:
Vampire Counts:
I think this works if vampires are kept generic, but with the Bloodline approach (and when we've taken inspiration from previous editions) it has used the armour selection as a balancing approach e.g. Necrarchs had no access to standard or magic armour. It also feels like Leadership could follow the same approach, for example Von Carsteins are generally known to arrogant beyond belief with likely a higher leadership whilst Necrarch's again more willing to fall back.
So if someone wants to use the Bloodline Armies pack, I think a Bloodline has to be chosen, and then balancing is looked across a mixture of stat changes, vampire powers and equipment options.
On the note of vampire powers, the powers in the Bloodline Armies pack would be the only ones that vampire has access to, to allow for easier balancing. So players can choose the existing generic vampire legacy rules OR the vampire rules from the BA pack, but not combine both.
The final normal rule, is that all vampires in the army must be chosen from the same Bloodline (except if you choose the Von Carstein power that allows the inclusion of vampire from a different line if we choose to keep it)
I think that's all the general rules for vampires - any thoughts?
