Inspired by the OBR update in White Dwarf 472, specifically The Tithe Takers campaign, I'm brainstorming a conversion project that transforms the usual Liege-Kavalos into something a little more like a Soulreaper. As you may know, I'm a huge fan of the Mortisan Soulreaper/Executioner aesthetic and the Emissarian Caste, so I wanted my avatar on the field to represent that.

My first thought was to simply put the Soulreaper torso on the Zandtos legs, easy enough, except the iconography on the steed is Panoptic (where the Soulreaper torso has the Emissarian displayed) and it doesn't work with how the reigns are designed.

Second thought was to instead utilize the Zandtos torso as-is and replace the head and weapon. Contrary to the standard right-handedness prevalent throughout the AoS range, Liege/Zandtos is left handed, but converting his spear holding arm shouldn't be too much trouble to carry the scythe. I did look briefly at using Mir Kainan's model for parts, but the head is much bigger and I don't think the axe would look as pleasing as the scythe (and the two handed grip would be harder to convert).

As much as I'd like to keep the soul harvesting effect on the scythe, I'm not sure I'll be able to integrate it into the pose. What I can do, which is standard on all Soulreaper variants, is to take the soultraps from the Soulreaper and equip them to the Liege as well. I don't think the model needs the extra back sword, and it looks like the Liege shield can be made to fit. I wish I didn't have to wait for my second Tithe-Echelon box to start working on it, but I'm sure it will turn out great in the end.

Do you have any ideas that might help the project?

I just had the thought that I could use a Mortek Necrophoros right arm instead of the Zandtos shield/arm. That way, narratively, the character could still use both hands to wield his scythe, I imagine something like standing in the saddle and sweeping blows down on either side once stuck in. Or riding through infantry like reaping wheat.
