After Fitz and Satsu left the Council meeting they arrived at one of the many unused halls within Drakenhof.
Removing his mask and lowering his hood he walked into the room and the sight inside shocked the Arch-Assassin.
In the center of the room sat a dirty malnourished peasant girl who stared blankly at her feet.
Around the sides of room stood six members of Squad Thirteen, all Magi-Assassins, including their Squad Commander the Necrarch Azrel. Satsu noted that, even excluding Azrel, the assassins were were all notable Necromancers.
"Ah Headmaster." Azrel said with a smile on his withered face "We have made a fascinating discovery."
"So I've heard...but she just looks like a girl who can't even find fitting clothes to me...I can't imagine how she'd be capable of even hurting a baby."
"Me neither." a newcomer said from the doorway.
Satsu glanced over his shoulder to see Commander Kenji, the most skilled swordsman in the Order, stride in with his hands resting over the hilt of his Nipponese longsword.
"What are you doing here Kenji?" Satsu asked.
"The same as you I suspect. This girl disabled one of my blademen, I'm beginning to disbelief after seeing her though."
Azrel stepped in between them with a smile, almost skipping with excitement. "No, no, no. It wasn't her! Don't you see? Look! Look at her!".
Satsu stared at the human feeling utterly baffled, all he saw was a girl. Looking at Kenji he saw his confusion reflected back at him.
Azrel losing his patience with the two other assassins let out a long belaboured sighed "I forget how blind the ungifted are sometimes."
Seeing Satsu's glare Azrel continued "Ah what I mean is you need quite some Necromantic skill to see spirits that are embedded within mortal flesh. The spirit came out of her and did all the damage, not the host itself."
"Possession?" Satsu asked, he had never heard of possession where the spirit left the body and then returned.
Meanwhile Kenji walked closer as he squinted at the girl trying to "see" the spirit.
"Sort of yes...but no not exactly...more like a binding...oh I wish I had time to experiment. Watch, let me show you!"
"Wait what?" Satsu asked but it was too late, Azrel and his men were already undoing the sealing.
For a moment there was utter silence, then a deep rumbling noise began to fill the room.
Kenji reacted first, his head snapped up as he sensed something and with supernatural grace he flipped backwards away from the girl. Satsu reached for his blade when something struck him in the chest sending him crashing into the wall behind him.
Satsu blinked and pushed himself to his feet, ignoring the pain he felt.
He saw Kenji roll to the side as a gouge was torn into the ground where the Blood Dragon had been standing moments before. Focusing on the air around the Nipponese vampire his poor witchsight caught a flicker of light but then was gone however he could sense the presence of...something, something big, which he assumed was this "spirit".
Glancing around Satsu noticed Azrel was watching with utter fascination, his much more evolved witchsight likely letting him see the ethereal creature's true form. It took a moment for the fact that the spirit had completely ignored the Squad 13 members to sink in...perhaps it was afraid of magi?
Turning his attention back to the other Commander to see that Kenji had grown bored of avoiding the attacker and was now drawing his blade, an ancient and powerful sword that was forged by Nippon's greatest smiths and forged by ancient mystics from a time long past.
The presence seemed to shrink for a moment at the sight of the fearful weapon. The rumbling noise rose to a deafening pitch as Satsu sensed the unseen creature's presence grow once more.
It seemed to then focus on the one person in the room with no magical defense. It didn't take long for Satsu to realize this either as the spirit soared towards him.
"Seal it! Seal it!" he roared as he backed into the wall.
Azrel moved with as much speed as Satsu himself could summon and snarled out an incantation with his men joining a moment behind. In but a few moments the ghost had been sealed away again.
"That was...interesting." Kenji commented as he sheathed his blade.
"Not quite the word I'd use. Please don't do that again Azrel, keep it caged."
For some insane reason the Necrarch looked hurt at the command but he nodded "Yes sir."
Shaking his head Satsu walked up to the girl trying to decide what to do with her and her monstrous pet.
"What's your name girl?" he asked.
