Downtime / New Host

I would just like to take a moment to apologise for the downtime over the last couple of days.

As some of you are aware we have had issues, and I have logged a complaint with our host over what I feel was unacceptable delays in responding to our ticket.

Because of that we have transferred to a new host, and we are just finalising the transfer over the next week or so - however we do not anticipate any further downtime.

On the plus side the new package we have for our host, whilst a bit more expensive is much better, so I can continue the test on Xen Foro.

In the meantime please continue to post as normal and as usual I'll provide updates as and when I have them.

Really great news I was starting to get scrared that something bigger was wrong! Look forward to trying the new stuff out, even if it "just" makes it easier for the mods I'll be happy :)

Yes, hosting problems can be a bit of a nightmare to say the least. Fortunately, I never had any problems with the host and co-admin who I used to work with many moons ago. Hopefully, your new host will be more speedy when you need help.

Well so far our new host has been beyond fantastic.

When I didn't get a response from our old host for a while the new host tried everything to get in and resolve the problem - even though technically it was not their problem. As soon as we did get access they mirrored everything over in a few hours, and personally called me to update on the migration.

They also specialise in the new software we are going to, and have said once transferred they will review and optimise our installation free of charge.

I also raised a non-urgent ticket last night (just a technical query). Got a very good and personable response this morning.

So far I am impressed. They might be more expensive, but I think it is a case of getting what you pay for.

Glad they're worthy of CN's dark brothers and sisters! The other guys were going to be having a visit from Konrad if they kept it up... :devil2:
