Entry Thread. Turning the World to Darkness: Them Bones

  • The masquerade of murder returns! A new game of Vampires Amongst Us has begun. Unmask the killers, trust no one, and try to survive the night. Find out more and sign up now!
After a slight delay, the competition is going on again. The current topic, as agreed upon by me and @Theerteen is "Them Bones"

It's all about bones now, so all skeletons, wights, liches, deathrattles and all kinds of such spooky creatures are welcome. Ghouls and other undead creatures holding bones would be good too, I guess. Statues sculpted to look like bones probably too. An whatever kind of interpretation you would have too ;) I am actually surprised we didn't have a theme like this before.

Original models and conversions allowed.

The Prize: The winner earns the glory and a place in the Hall of Infamy thread. The winner also gets to select the theme of the next painting challenge.

The Rules:
  • All models entered should not have been painted more than a year ago from the date the entry thread is closed. This will not be enforced but violators will politely be asked to retract their entry.
  • All miniatures presented must have been painted by the entrant.
  • Max one entry per person.
  • Max 3 images per entry (including pictures in collages), of reasonable size.
  • No voting for your own entry.
  • No model can be entered into several challenges.
  • For every started set of 5 entries, each member gets a single vote (for example: with 7 entries everyone would get 2 votes).
  • Open entries and open voting. Everyone can see who painted what.
  • Models can be of any manufacturer and conversion but must fulfill all the criteria of the given theme.
  • If no decision on the next theme is made within a week of the winner announcement, the decision falls to the competition organizer.

The Schedule:
Week 1, Monday: Theme announcement and entry thread created
Week 7, Sunday: Entry thread closed. Voting thread opened.
Week 8, Friday: Voting thread closed. Result announced. Winner asked about next theme.

This thread is now open for people to post their entries. Please state a name of the miniature along with the pictures (ex: Vampire Lord or Countess Squigmachine). The thread closes on the 16th of June 2019 at (roughly) 23:59 CET (but we are not in a hurry, we can easily extend it much longer if someone needs to finish their entry)

And a list of subscribers who will get a notification about the competition (you don't have to be listed here to enter!):

hmm, I have a new Manfred model i've been dying to paint, he's on a skeletal horse, that work? I dunno what else I have that's bones to work with other than an old metal grave guard standard bearer. This time I'll use my real camera since I'll have the stuff set up, maybe actually get a vote this time lol

I'm not going to get anything else done in time, so I guess I should enter these:

@Shadespyre Those are superb!

A week of power painting and, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to finish my grave guard before heading off to work this morning. I seem to have bitten off more than I can chew

I’ll definitely have them finished by Wednesday but if you guys don’t wish to wait any longer then get that voting started.

@Farmer7574 I don't think that anyone would have any problems with extending the deadline, it's not like we are in a hurry in any way. Besides, when you were writing that post, there was only one entry! ;) Take as much time as you need (but do hurry, a deadline it motivating!) - or is anyone against it?

Besides, I am bringing my own entry into the competition, Yarema the Giant, the bodyguard wight.

Alright then, here is my attempt at painting the Sepulchral Warden from GW's Shadespire, although I am also currently using them as Mordheim henchmen.

My painting is not great yet, but I have been improving. Enjoy
