Well hello there, this will be my painting log for my new passion project: a 2000p.ts soulblight list themed around Vyrkos dinasty and slavic folklore. So a bit of introduction:
In the past 2 years I've been working on hobby projects centered around spearhead or 2000 pts armies for Age of Sigmar, all centered into 2 things: theme over competitive, and the exploration of the huge ranges outside the GW Miniatures
Right Now i've completed 3 spearheads ( 2 of witch are part of a bigger army) and 3 2000p.ts armies: Son's of behemat themed around D&D races of giant, made entirely with non gw models, Chaos themed ogor mawtribes also made with 100% non gw miniatures ( which got the best painted last summer )and a 2000p.ts Helsmith of Hashut Ur Zorn themed army (which I've just finished and also got best painting at a recent local tournament ) made with almost only gw models with a non ge model and some non gw bits. the spearhead are a Behemat one an Helsmith one and a Sylvaneth one themed around evil spirit of the swamps (this idea will come useful later into this project ). I've also a 4th spearhead, a cities of sigmar one but made with Grand Cathay Models that is almost finished
The kind of approach used into these past projects will be used also into this new soulblight adventure!
Now for the story behind the army. With the release of the new chaos marauders and my everburning love for vampires and undead in general ( In the past i've also completed a full 2000 flesh eater courts and legions of nagash army, that were sold ) i decided it was the right time to build a soulblight army. I've always been fond of russian and slavic aesthetic ( still hoping for Kislev for TOW ) and among the new bloodlines the Vyrkos was the one i found most interesting ( my original bloodline of choice was Von Carstein ). SO i decided to embrace the russian vampiric werewolves nature and start planning. This painting log has also a deadline: 17 may 2026, date when i will partecipate to another local tournament hoping to win another best painting award
The list is centered wich unit choices that fit my narrative and idea: The Young Anya Volga, duaghter of the Dinasty and niece of the infamour Belladama, has been taskes by the wolfmother to stop the rising threat of a sigmar crusade lead by Patriarch Rasptuin ( yes it's all and Anastasia reference ahahaha )
So the leader of the army will be Anya Volga ( which I'll use as a count as Belladama herself )
In the following days I'll receive 20 new chaos marauders and on the 15th of febraury I will purchase and receive at home 20 empire archers and Ivya Volga
Ivya Volga will be the base of the conversion for Anya and the two other kits will be combined with bits from fireforge living dead paesants and warriors to create undead kossar guards ( barrow guards ) and pilgrims of the wolf ( deadwalker Zombies )
