Hello everyone!

I have been lurking around in the shadows of the old Carpe Noctem forum, reading about how the Vampire Counts perform as an army on the battlefield and looking at the work of all the skilled members in the painting and modelling section, and after a while, I convinced myself into starting a VC army.

I was about to register but then I heard that you were making a new and improved website, so I waited patiently. I'm sitting here now, removing my first zombie regiment from the sprues, and i discovered the new website about half an hour ago when i was going to check the Army Lists forum on your old website to find out if taking a standard bearer in a zombie unit is worth the points. The new (and very nice looking) logo caught my eye and I realised that the new website was live! And here I am

But now I must get back to practicing the dark art of necromancy...

Greetings and welcome to the forum!

Heh, we probably get some new additions if we get the painting logs started... I think 3 of the 4 applicants want to work with VC as an army (including me... yea yea I got a great self-knowledge ).

I convinced myself into starting a VC army.

That's good!

I'm glad it worked.. I was doubting that the topic in the Announcements forum had much affect... I'm happy I changed the banner to the one we have on here.

To answer your question: standards in Zombie units are generally worth taking. It grants the additional static CR point to your side, ensuring you more of a victory in Close Combat. I don't know if you looked at their stats yet, but they aren't exactly the equivalent of Bruce Lee with nun-chuks.

Perhaps start a paint blog? Would be cool. We can give tips and advice and such (if needed ;) ). Are you totally new to Warhammer?

Thank you for the warm welcome and for answering my question! I am completely new to the gaming aspect of the hobby, but i have been painting a few miniatures every now and then for a little while.

I don't have very much time for painting (or maybe I'm just lazy? ), but when I do get around to painting something, I will make sure to post some pictures.
