Greetings.

Here to sharecouple of pics of the stuf I've finished last weekend and this week.
My recently rediscovered love to wet undead is being fueled by beautiful modern sculpts and the oldschool grimdark vibe of older minis.
I wish GW rereleased the last model of Isabela von Carstein. I was dumb not to get it when it was available, even if made of crapcast.. Now it's a wee bit too expensive thing for me.
Anyways, here is my painting log. Any comments, suggestions, critique will be highly appreciated.

Hey there, welcome to the forum!

I love the wight king the most but those are all great paintjobs! The last necro in particular looks quite intimidating.

The WK is really striking with that mix of colors and the blue gem looks great.

May I ask where those necros came from?

Hey, Seneschal.
Initially I planned the WK to be painted in muted, desaturated colors, however it turned out no to be too good of a choice especially with all the armor rust and bronze patina, hence brownish reds and purples.
My both necromancers come from the Warhammer: Cursed City boxed game, the particular one you are talking about is Octren Glimscry mini with some minor improvements to his staff.
W:CC has a lot to take from which would fit perfectly into wet undead themed army, and I managed to snatch couple of sprues from that box with intention of using these as a bits reservoir for kitbashing.

Oooh I love the start of a new painting log! Some great models there kondor44, the rust and verdigris on the Wight King is really well done, it definitely resonates of old damp decaying Undead. Interesting I was looking at some of the Cursed City models wondering if they would do well and this answers my question xd I'll look at picking some up now.

On Isabella, I know what you mean! I've tried looking for second hand by the prices are ridiculous. As it's out of print I might have to consider if there's a decent 3D sculpt to print 🤔

Keeping the thread alive until skellies are done, here are some old 40k minis I painted many moons ago:
Tech priest, because the flesh is weak

Imperial navigator, because I love the sculpt

Explosive zombie baby, because my wife wanted me to paint something cute for her

Thank you for your kind words. Still have a looooong way to go when it comes to painting.

This might be my favorite batch of your pics. The blood spatters on the zombie done so perfectly, the highlighting on the grey seer and the exceptional choice of colors...sheesh...I am stunned!

Thank you, Seneschal . Mordheim is very specific kind of game, where you can and should put a lot of love into your minis, even the cannon fodder ones, because you have only handful of them in your warband.
These zombies took me so much time to paint, that if I had to put as much work into proper block of 35 decaying bodies, getting such a regiment done would last for couple of months 🙂

The WH40K models had a really refreshing vibrant look, did anyone get 90s GW vibes with the brighter colours when GW didn't feel the need to be so grimdark? I really liked them.

As the others have mentioned, the other models are ace as well. I think the little touches make the models pop, like the pink noses on the skaven, it almost makes them look adorable!

God Almighty, almost done with regular skeletons' regiment. Just some drybrush and couple of tufts on bases and I'm through with them. Pictures to follow.
Sad news is a block of zombies is waiting to get painted, so more batch painting for me up until mid- December.
Giving myself some mental respite, I've kitbashed a Wight Lord BSB to match the Wight King shown couple of posts earlier.

Here's the build before priming.

Damn, it's been too long since my last visit..
Rest assured I was not idle- hobbywise- during that time, well, as long as life allowed it.
Here's couple of things I managed to finish since November. Yeah, that's not much, however I'm happy with the results, sort of.
First things first- 5 out of 10 Black Knights, as they are:

Managed to make such a filler for my Grave Guard block:

As for the other-than-the-dead things, here's some squiggitty Squig along with that nasty cave dwelling piece of greenskinned shit on top :D

For a contrast- one of my all-time favorite sculpts of Dwarfs

And, last but not least, the King of Karak Hirn and his "now ye're fucked, laddie" crew

More to come, as my pile of shame grew somewhat during last weeks...
