Hello. I'm interested in the Von Carsteins and Vampire Counts in general but other than the Vampire Wars trilogy I've had a hard time finding books that deal specifically with them. If anyone can recommend good reads on Vlad, Konrad, Mannfred, or general Vampire Counts novels then please let me know!

I came across this article on the Lexicanum ('Von Carstein Dynasty) but since I'm a new member I can't link it. In particular there's a 'Notable von Carsteins' section which I'll quote in part.

  • Dietrich von Dohl, the Crimson Lord of Sylvania. Long time rival of Mannfred's. Slain by the resurrected Nagash for opposing him.
  • Albretch Noctis, born a von Drak. He was Isabella's cousin and under Vlad was the first Grand Master of the Drakenhof Templars. Over time he lost his grip on sanity and he stepped down as Grand Master when he started becoming a savage, monstorous Varghulf.
  • Tomas von Carstein; member and later the second Grand Master of the Drakenhof Templars. Executed by Mannfred for attempting to usurp him
  • Elize von Carstein; the Doyenne of the Red Abbey. Isabella's handmaiden. Later member then last Grand Master of the Drakenhof Templars
  • Anark von Carstein; member and later third Grand Master of the Drakenhof Templars. Slain trying to assassinate Arkhan the Black on Mannfred's orders.
  • Markos von Carstein; member of the Drakenhof Templars. Slain trying to assassinate Mannfred
  • Gustavus von Carstein; member of the Drakenhof Templars
I'm just wondering where it's possible to read about any of these characters? I've had a devil of the time finding information on the internet about any novels that these people may have been apart of. I kind of know what the Drakenhof Templars are - a Pre-Vampiric Sylvanian order that descended into Vampirism and serves as a kind of personal guard for the Count of Sylvania - but I've only ever found mentions of them online and never a book that deals with them directly. What about Dietrich von Dohl, or Albrecht Noctis? Both sound like interesting characters and yet I've found no material for either of them either.

Can anyone help me find further reading on The Vampire Counts in general, beyond just The Vampire Wars trilogy?

The black library books that accompany the end times feature all of the aforementioned (with te exception of dohl) to varying degrees, so that could be a good starting point.
In some grand plan before GW decided to do age I Sigmar the vampire wars trilogy was going to be redone to bring it in line with the Time of legends series but yeah that never happend.

If you can get hold of a copy of Warhammer Armies Undead, there is a substantial amount of information in there about most of the Von Carsteins. That, aside from the Black Library books, is probably your best bet for reliable information.
