Hello! I hope this is the good spot for this thread, im sorry if it’s not!

I’m thinking about converting old warhammer models into a zombie unit. Like undead elves, orcs, bretonnia models
I read online that people have done it, but can’t find good pictures.

Anyone have experience in this and would like to share pic’s and tips?
Or
Any other tips what to do with old models/bits for perhaps scenery

Hey Spooki543 ! I moved the thread to the Painting section :)

That is a really cool idea, and I have done it quite a bit myself through the years - and I'm working on my Flesh Eater Courts army at the moment which will be very much converted from Bretonnian models (I will post pictures when I have them :) ). For some inspiration you could check out: Turning the World to darkness Hall Of Infamy - Carpe Noctem This thread has quite a fair bit of that type of conversions :)

In order to help you better I might need to know a bit about where you are hobbywise:
- Have you done kitbashing before?
- Have you worked with greenstuff before?
- What level of painter would you say you are? (Like beginner, intermediate, good, expert)

Thnx for the link! Very cool pictures.
Curious about your flesh eaters 😉.

I don’t have any experience haha, beginning in the hobby (painted Warhammer 16 years ago when i was 13 or so). So i’d say i’m a beginner.

I can get my hands on a lot old bits/models and bought a mantic zombie box. So very exciting to be creative with this 😉, and happy to learn.

Hi Spooki543!

Be sure to check the Zombie gallery thread, there might be some inspiration there: Show us your Tar pits(Zombies) and Corpse Carts - Carpe Noctem
There is also a dedicated gallery thread for zombie Ogres and Giants: Show us your Zombie Ogres/Giants/ etcetera - Carpe Noctem

I also have some Bretonnian and Empire zombie conversion as seen on my plog, and if you scroll further there are Ogre zombie conversions as well:
Raven's Nest O' Bones - Carpe Noctem

For tips on painting zombies you can check this threads, since skintone is rather important in getting the zombie look, especially with other races/armies:
How to paint your Zombies - Carpe Noctem

Hope this helps! 🙂
