Howdy people!
Today I'm here to show you my latest model, a totally scratch built Necrofex Colossus! This is a monster for the Vampire Counts from Forgeworld's Monstrous Arcanum. Not wanting to half-ass it, I decided to go straight for a mighty Nightmare Colossus (the biggest of the two option). And a model with "largest of monster" and "colossal beast" need to be big, big enough to looks like he could Thunderstomp regular monsters (with 2D6, no less).
So big I went!
And I wanted to keep cost low, so I used what I had on hand, making minimum purchase for it (I bought two bits in total for this project, so less than 5$). The rest I had already in hand; unused models and extra bits. The main body is made out of sprues, lots of sprues. Glued together to make large beam, sanded them if I wanted round pole, or just shaved them to make planks. Lots of work, but it was free!
But enough talk, I think people are more interested in pics than words , so on with some pics
The mighty beast, total height is just shy of 14 inches at the top of the bell;
A more detailed view of the top part. The Necromancer up there will represent the magic level you can give the model.
A shot of the back;
A little size comparison with what I had laying around;
The Necromancer is magnetized, and the reliquary fit snugly on the head, so I can have that acting as the brain if I want! Could also be used if I don't want magic level on the model.
That is all for now, Hope you like it! If you have question or request for some pics, just ask!
