First off, I you don't like this please don't comment. If someone has a big problem, such as if I should breach any rules or they are strongly against this issue, then please PM me. I don't think I'm breaching any rules here, but if I do it is purely incidental.

Okay, so as the title suggests, I am in a bit of a pickle. For various reasons, many of them legal, I cannot state where it is I work, whom I work with, nor the company I work for. My problem is with work. Generally, whenever I start a new job, it begins really good. Everyone there is happy with how I'm doing etc etc. In this case, my boss was even happy with the fact that I ensured that everyone else was doing the right thing. I've been there for nearly seven months now, in which time we have had several new staff employed, and several staff have lost their jobs, or resigned. Most notably was the Manager (my bosses boss). But, more on that later. After the first few months I began noticing that things were not being done properly, or even being done at all. My boss was one of the main people who failed to do these things. I am, to date, convinced that I am the only one there who performs their job to the T and above. That is to say, I do my job, aswell as aspects of other peoples job. This was fine. Recently though, there has been some really dirty "stuff" going on. That is to say, people have been doing things in direct violation of their contract, many of which is grounds for an instant dismissal. Like most people here, I turned a blind eye, covered up their tracks, simply because thats what everyone else is doing. It really annoyed me the other day though, so against the advice of my peers, I sought out the Manager and reported it. I, rather foolishly, expected an investigation into it launched straight away, simply because if someone from the Head Office found out about it, at least a half a dozen people would lose their jobs, and find it extremely difficult to get another because of the nature of the offense. To date, nothing has happened. When I reported it, I was politely ignored. This is where I need some help. There are several people high up in the chain of command who, even know about this but still do nothing, I cannot turn to. What should I do? Should I contact Head Office directly, or do as I have done in the past and turn tail and run. (I have left previously held jobs because of issues similar to these.)

*Please note, I have deliberately been vague, as previously mentioned I cannot name names, nor let on whom or what I am talking about. I would appreciate any and all feedback, especially if anyone else has been in this position before. Again, if anyone has a problem with this post, please feel free to PM me.

It is really difficult to answer without actually knowing the full details and the actual things that are happening.

In reality is boils down to your own conscience. It seems clear to me that the people are doing wrong, and the fact that you have reported this already confirms this. So the questions is whether reporting it much higher directly is going to cause you any problems. Would you be in any danger, would it in someway seriously impact your life in a negative way? If so I can see cause for concern, but in that situation only you can determine whether the risk is acceptable or not.

If there will be no threat to you, the fact you have already reported it would suggest to me it is serious enough to be reported to the head office, and in that situation I would do so.

I've encountered this in the military once or twice. I, personally, can't stand wrongdoing of that magnitude. Abuse of a contract, direct dereliction of duty, etc etc....It really is my worst pet peeve.

If you can guarantee your own safety in the workplace, or if there's an anonymous method to report it, do it. there's absolutely no reason for you to cover up for other people when they deliberately do the wrong thing, and they know the consequences of their actions.

So, go above your managers head. That's the military way; let your immediate Supe know, if they don't do anything go to the next level. Then higher, until at last the CC (CEO I guess) Is informed and can take action/ignore it as he pleases.

Hey, thanks for the replies. Oni, I am the same. I cannot stand it. Therefore, I have applied for a few new jobs, some in a completely different role, so *hopefully* this won't keep happening at everywhere I go. Come August, for better or worse, I won't be employed there no longer. Decided this as my boss had a go at me, basically for reporting it. Others have also been basically talking sh!t about me, saying I want (bosses) position, wanna get them sacked etc etc. Its pathetic. And DoN, yeah unfortunately if I reported it higher up, whislt something might get done, I would basically be asked to leave, if not outright sacked. So wishing I joined the Union. So yeah, cowards way out and hoping for the bestxD

Like you're doing I would apply for some other jobs, and keep working up the chain. If you're in the states there's some legal ramifications if they wrongly fire you for doing "the right thing," especially if the people around you are doing anything illegal. I would get some outside legal advice. Also once you have/will blown the whistle make sure you document document document everything. Names, dates, everything. Keep a personal record. CYA, it's what we did in the military if anything happened we had a record of what PVT Retard did so it wouldn't bite us in the ass later.

If they are doing something outright wrong and illegal, report it to the authorities. If they sack you for it, well you will hopefully get to lay on a wrongfull dismissal suite, to go on top of the criminal investigation, their loss of reputation and the possible jail term/fines/sacking they may suffer. Of course, this may not work, as the good guys do not always win. Just look into your conscience and ask yourself if you can live with letting it all slide. If you think you can, by all means take the safe way out.

Myahahaha! We got an email today from head office. Everything that I reported, and was ignored for, then given the cold shoulder, then told I was just trying to stir shit, has happened in a different place in NZ. They got pinged, majorly, and so now EVERYONE who works for said company has to go through EVERYTHING and make sure that everything is PERFECT! Win for me, unfortunately not. Not really anyway. I'm still being given the cold shoulder, such as no-one above me will so much as look at me because they know that I was right, and well just don't want to admit it. Ha, suck sh... This piece of news absolutely made my week! That being said, I have applied for the New Zealand Army, so with any luck they'll say yes. I'm fairly fit anyway, just need to remember how to run. Lol, a week of jogging several km's every morning will do the trick. But yeah, absolutely stoked by it. And, thanks to everyone who replied to this for you're advice. Much appreciated.
