So I was looking through some of the threads and came across this incomplete discussion for the Nagashi cultists.

So here's what we got upto:

Nagashi Cultists - 10 pts./model

Though ranked lowed in the plans of the Nagash, these mortals follow him without question. Their belief in their Dark Lord lends them a fanatical fury that they sate on those who would defy their god

Cultist..... M 4 / WS 4 / BS 3 / S 3 / T 3 / W 1 / I 4 / A 1 / Ld 7
Champion: M 4 / WS 4 / BS 3 / S 3 / T 3 / W 1 / I 4 / A 2 / Ld 7

Unit Strength: 10-25

Equipment
Morning Star and Heavy Armour

May choose the following equipment upgrades (costs are per model):
Flails +1pts

Options:
-Any unit may upgrade one Cultist to a Musician for +5 pts.
-Any unit may upgrade one Cultist to a Champion for +10 pts.
-Any unit may upgrade one Cultist to a Standard Bearer for +10 pts.
-Any unit may give their Standard Bearer a magic banner of up to 40 pts.

Special Rules
Frenzy
Nagashi

N.B: If the army does not contain a Nagashi Captain, a cultist unit does not fill a minimum core requirement slot.

However I thought it might be a bit limiting? You would be forcing the player to have to purchase a captain. Perhaps we should have some other kind of limit. Does not count as a core option?

Why heavy armour? They just seem like a bunch of hipped up zealots, with a few pointy sticks and a few pieces of rusty armour :P

They seem expensive enough, I'd like to see a rule like "The end is Nigh!" on them, give them some real flavour

Heavy armour because the Legion is more heavily armoured than the VC / TK and also because whilst they are fanatical about their god they wouldn't be stupid. They are shock troops, and would take some kind of decent protection.

I'm a bit unsure about another special rule as the Legion is getting chockful of them. That's why they were given frenzy. What did you have in mind?

On the limiting thing maby they may only be included in the army if there is at least one nagashi captin in the army. As they would have 3 attacks to begin with 1+ 2hand weps+ frenzy maby they should be special as well.

Any reason for the magic standard being 40pts? its normally 25, 50 or 75

The magic limits in the legion are set higher due to the intrinsically magical nature of this army, having Nagash lead it and the foundries of Nagashizzar to produce its magical items. Plus most of the magic banners in the Legion are 40pts xd

Hmmm, you are quite right - 3 attacks could be too much for a normal core. Ok I think it would probably be better in that case that they have a limit of 1 unit per Nagashi Captain, plus they do not fulfil a core slot. So they don't take away from special, but there won't be loads of them either.

3 attacks is a lot for a core...

How about: For each Nagashi Captain in the army, a single unit of Nagashi Cultists may be taken as a Core choice. Otherwise, Nagashi Cultists are taken as a Special choice.

So, if you want them to be Core you are forced to take a Captain. And given that it's one unit per captain, you won't be seeing too many of them, unless taken as a Special.

The only problem I have with that rule is that we already have lots of special choices and hardly any core. Perhaps we should just remove their additional hand weapon?

Ok, so I have removed the additional hand weapon. They might have two attacks, however they are frenzied so that balances out.

So what about the limitation? I think it should be ok if they are a core choice, but don't full up a core slot.

I think they should fill up a core slot (don't see why they shouldn't) but maby no more nagashi units then undead units in the entire army, as it is still a mainly undead army.

If the army includes a Nagashi Captain then they are Core. If the army does not include a Nagashi Captain, then they are Core but do not count towards minimum Core. :D

I think without the additional hand weapon they'd be fine as counting for core. But still limit them for how many Nagashi captains the army has, or something similar to skaven, and have skeleton warriors as a mainstay unit or something. I don't think they're too good right now, if you look at their profile, they're very similar to Chaos Marauders with the Mark of Khorne, which are both core & cheap.

I like bishops Idea, its quite good. They would need a leader to control them.

Do we still have a unit that gave magic bonus' to the rest of the army by having ranks, I really liked that rule, I thought it was with these guys, but I'll check.
EDIT: You merged them! We were going to have one unit of Nagashi infantry, a solid, dependable human troop block, and one unit of cultists, crazies that worshipped Nagash, and going by the lore, gave the pool extra PD for every three ranks. A fantical magic zombie.

I liked the two separate choices...

Sorry abut that Arion, but I think we have more than enough special rules to be going on with.

Ok, I have amended the first post and they look fine to me. Any more comments?

Good point, if they are a shock unit then they should have options to exchange their hand weapons for halberds/flails/great weapons for +?? points.

I quite like the idea of those options. So how about:

GW +2pts per model
Flails +1pts per model

Not sure about the halberds, they strike me as belonging to a more disciplined unit.
