Armand was growing weary of his long travels, having taken up the Grail quest he had been searching for over a year now. Hefting his gear, onto his steed he continued his journey. Headed now towards Blood Keep, he would complete this quest or die trying.
On the road stood a lone man, this man had his helm in his hand and stood tall and proud. Armand was taken aback when the man called out "None shall pass without besting me in combat first."
"Do not tarry me, for I have travelled a great distance on this road and will not be stopped." Armand dropped from his horse landing nimbly, unsheathing his sword and raising it he challenged the impudent naive.
The man responded by donning his helm and standing with his hands on his blades leaving them sheathed.
Armand charged and swung his blade in an attempt to lop off the head of the upstart. However, this was no ordinary man, it was Viktor Vorach, a vampire and he ducked the blow, spun around unsheathing one sword and finishing the maneuver by cleaving the Knight's head clean from his shoulders.
Viktor sheathed his sword and faced away from Blood Keep once more.

Viktor had been guarding the only passage through the Grey Mountains for over a week now, the dozens of corpses littered around him being testament to his new-found skill in battle. Packs of Dire Wolves had now joined him as silent guardians of the pass watching his many battles from rocky outcrops nearby.
And now he had yet another foe to face, a Bright Wizard. Having been tutored in the schools of magic for barely a year now, Asinius had learnt enough to be a competent mage at the most and now had his path impeded by the armour-clad warrior Viktor.
"Mage! You shall not Pass!!" Viktor called out as he donned his helmet once again. The wolves all turned to face the tresspasser and howled in unison.
Asinius began reciting the fireball spell and launched a single blast at the Vampire intent on smiting him where he stood.
Viktor quickly unsheathed his sword and took the blow with his blade as it ignited, he then proceeded to flick his blade to the side and launch the fireball away at a tree to the side of the road.
Shocked to the core, Asinius prepared a cluster of fireballs as Viktor advanced to slay his foe. The magic was released with a flourish and Viktor drew his second blade and span both his swords in great arcs, deflecting the attack and charging the Bright Wizard with a look of menace in his eyes.
The mage launched one last fireball which scored a direct hit but too late Asinius realised that the Vamprie had allowed this and he swung both blades at the mage's head clashing at the centre.
Viktor took stock of the situation, the fire died out as soon as the mage was slain but he had been wounded by the sheer heat of the blast. Spinning on his heels, the Marquis of Kislev walked back to his wolves, sheathed his swords and took off his helm and most notably refusing to heal his wounds which had become many by this point.
A small smile began to play on his face as it seemed his quarry had finally arrived.
