Alright, as an avid collector of pirate-themed armies for Warhammer and Age of Sigmar, I've had a go at putting together some rules for sailing/oar-powered vessels in Age of Sigmar.

Ships in Age of Sigmar act a lot like heroes or monsters. They have their own movement, attacks, and saves. Like monsters, these are often reduced as they take damage. This represents weapons being destroyed, the ship taking on water, etc.

There are four classes of ships in Age of Sigmar: small, medium, large, and huge. Small boats are typically less than 8” in length, and include row boats, long boats, and such. Medium ships are from 8” to 12” in length, large from 12” to 18”, and huge ships are longer than 18”.

What do you think? I'm looking for feedback. :)

Well, that's a titanic work anyway, and it impresses quite a lot. In this regard I can offer to name huge ships capital ships, medium - frigates and small - corvettes. But what about ships that don't use cannons?

Good question. They could certainly be armed with something else. I played a lot of D&D Spelljammer many years ago, and the ships were usually armed with catapults or even ballistae.

That ship is beautiful, as does the scenery around it look. It's a great job, I'm very impressed. I've always wanted sea battles too.

Certainly. If we recall Dreadfleet, here were not only cannons or torpedos, but also ballistae (for example, on the elven ship) or catapults (on the Tomb Kings ship, along with a sun-laser). And certainly some especially naval nations like high or dark elves could use this ships, they have even the special units for that!

Exactly! I have small forces of Lothern Sea Guard, Dark Elf Corsairs, Dwarf Slayer Pirates, and Norse Marauders.

In Age of Sigmar, I can field these quite easily as small armies of their own.

Working on it. I have three human ships and two ogre ships at the moment. I'd love to get more for the others.

Happy to. These two are made from the Playmobil Pirate Dinghy. Dinghy or not, it was a great size for ogres! I have since removed the bow chaser cannon, and instead just use the ogre leadbelchers.

However, I may even try to fit the Ironblaster on there too.

They are great indeed, and suit ogres really well, considering that ogres are quite large. But I'd decorate them more with different trophies and things like those in ogre boxes, for example.
