Rask gazed around the room, his expression impassive, while inside, even in his maddened state, he felt a measure of apprehension. The Council of Thirteen were hardly an enemy to underestimate, and Rask had no illusions. The Council were his enemies, it just remained to be seen whether they considered him or Nagash more dangerous to their continued reign. A skaven himself, he knew that they would be likely to try and manipulate him to their advantage. Nagash was a being of no small power, and the Council would leap on the chance to send an enemy to his death, fighting another one of their enemies. Rask nearly smiled, anticipating their reactions to his plan.
"You have much-much nerve. We thought-thought you were dead Rask, and soon you will wish you had maintained that illusion-deception."
The dry, rasping voice echoed through the chamber, as the lord of Clan Pestilens spoke.
"Let us kill-kill this traitor now," spoke the half-concealed Council member for Clan Eshin, his head shrouded in the shadows, a darkness even Rask found difficult to penetrate. Clan Eshin was always going to be the hardest to win over, for Rask had eliminated a great number of their assassins, masters, and even entire Triads before he went into hiding. When he had disappeared, it had made it seem like Eshin had finally been successful, and to discover him still alive must be a great disappointment.
The Seer Lord raised his hand however, stopping any movement before the Vermin Guards posted at the entrances and flanking Rask could make an attempt to attack the skaven vampire.
"Why-why did you come?"
For the first time since he entered the chamber, Rask spoke.
"Nagash is rising. He fight-fights a band of vampires, but when he has dealt with them he will remember-recall this council, our master race. He will try and destroy-kill us. However, the fight-war will be much easier if we ally-help the vampires. We can let-let them take the brunt of the fighting, and deal with both Nagash and the bloodsuckers once he is dead-dead. Some of these vampires have much-much warpstone. I wish to find-find the Fellblade, and I will use it to kill-kill Nagash. I need-need help though. Skaven help-help, not man-thing help, or vampire help."
The Council was silent for a long moment, before the Seer Lord gestured.
"Take him to the cell-cells. We must discuss-consider this new information."
