I've started reading The End of Enlightenment. The prose is serviceable, which is high praise from me as I can barely stand most modern authors and their strict adherence to telling over showing. Otherwise, I'm finding myself in conflict over some of the narrative tools the author is using to portray the OBR. I haven't recently reread the passage from the battletome, there's something off about how the author is using soulgems and soul alchemy. I'll keep reading and get back to you with an analysis soon.

Isn't it from the Lumineth's POV?
i wouldn't be surprised if the death faction is treated poorly, even from a motivational standpoint.
